This gives my dog Seizures!
This gave my Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky) seizures, so be VERY careful of giving this product as not all dogs react well. Last summer my dog had issues like vomiting, small weird twitching things I thought might be small seizures so I took her to several different vets and they couldn't figure out the cause. It calmed down over winter and she was doing great UNTIL I gave her the first dose of flea medicine for the year. She is typically with me all day but I left the room for a few minutes and when I came back I found her excessively drooling, along with several piles of vomit and pee on the floor. I took her to the Urgent Care Vet and they couldn't figure out the cause (now I know she had a seizure). She was doing great again UNTIL I gave her the next dose of this flea medicine and the next day was the first time I saw my dog have a full blown seizure and yet again she was drooling excessively, vomited, peed on the floor, and couldn't walk straight. I took her to the vet again and she thought she might have epilepsy. I remembered the prior summer and then discussed with her how she was having some issues last year like vomiting and some weird body movement and what I thought might be very small seizures. BUT that they stopped over winter after I stopped giving her the flea medicine and started up worse this year the day after I started the medicine. The Vet looked up the medicine and video I shared with her of my dog having a seizure and said that the Advantix Flea medicine does have an ingredient that can cause seizures and the other symptoms she was displaying and agreed it very well could be the medicine. She ended up having 1 more seizure 2 weeks after the 2nd flea treatment as the medicine stays in their system for at least 30-days. She has been good since and that was several months ago. I will no longer be giving her flea medicine like this as it is not worth it due to the very serious side effects. So be aware that this medicine can cause serious side effects.

Great value and it works as presented
So far so good on minpin 10 year old service dog. No hypersensitivity issues. Easy to apply. I usually apply it and crate her for an hour while it dries. No bugs! Good value too, nice for in between veterinary Revolution Drops that include heartworm prevention.

5 pound chihuahua, upper illinois. great product!!
I mainly bought this because of other reviews as well as researching what is in this product. I have a short haired Chihuahua, 5.6 pounds and live in upper Illinois. I tried frontline plus, it didn't seem to work. Hartz over the counter , I never tried but heard some awful things about. Sergeants over the counter is a good product just slightly smelly for a 5 pound dog. I do however use their flea and tick shampoo on my other 3 larger dogs and works great. But nothing seems to work just right for my Chihuahua. I had numerous ticks on him and even some latched. I had to have Lyme disease test because a Female deer tick bit him. So I decided to try this product. Upon arrival, I was excited. I opened the package, and the box that has the applicators in it, was completely open. That made me very skeptical. I was nervous. Like why was it open? Was is because the box looked real but to replace with a fake product? So I looked up the epa #, as well as making sure the epa reg.# matched the applicators. Sure enough it did. The product checked out and wasn't counterfeit. So I decided to use it. I applied it as said. Problem was that it said to not put it in one spot but it all came out in one area. Well anyways this morning my mother walked my dog around the block while I fixed her flat tire. I didn't think anything of it to check him because the product is suppose to ward them off. Well I was petting his lower back and sure enough a tick latched. But it wasn't engorged like the last one while I used frontline. Well I removed the tick and put him in my bug jar. I keep the ticks in case my dog seems to have any issues. Well the tick turned out to be a full size male dog tick. I put him in the jar and noticed he was walking funny. Sure enough two hours later, he died!! This product worked. Unfortunately it didn't stop the tick from latching but it made the tick ingest the poison! Amazing!

Pretty sure it made my dog sick
We followed the instructions to a T. It's not our first time with K9 Advantix, but it was the first in a long time, as we have no problems with fleas and ticks in our area, but wanted to make sure o ur pups were protected against them while out in the wilderness for a camping trip. About 4 days after the application, our 6 yro Yorkie became extremely lethargic, stopped eating, drinking, and had several bouts of diarrhea. My husband noticed a rash on his back, from the base of the neck all the way to the middle of the tail. Thinking it to be an episode of gastroenteritis, we switched him to a bland diet peppered with probiotics, administered an anti-hemetic and kept an eye on his fluid intake. No changes. In several trips to the vet, we had his blood, urine and stools tested - no signs of g.i., heart or kidney issues. X-Rays and ultrasound showed no abnormalities. The doctor was at her wits' end, as we tried and tested everything we could - when we mentioned the flea/tick treatment, she showed concern and advised us to be aware of the adverse reactions such treatments might bear, especially on small breeds. This situation went on for almost a month until he started showing improvement. I'm cannot say I'm 100% sure K9 Advantix was the root cause of my dog's sickness, but considering the amount of tests ran and the fact it was the only "change" in his routine over the course of that month, I can't rule it out either. Just be careful and aware of the possibility of side-effects. We'll not be using it anymore, and with that we cannot recommend it again. :(
