How long is the section between the hoop and the hook? In other words, what is the length between the ceiling and the hoop?

The strings on the top are quite long so you could have it pretty far from the ceiling. We tied them to have it right up against the ceiling so it hangs over her bed. Even that high up it touches the floor. She loves it, even over a year later.

It looks pink but description says beige...which is it?
