Q: is this balanced or unbalanced cable? and will it work with a Audio Technica 4050?

Victor, this is an XLR cable with a male and female connector, it is balanced. It works great with my microphones. If your mic has an XLR connector, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Jack

Q: Will these cables be good for a filmset?(Newbie) Of stage and studio, it seems like the Studio would be better for cleaner audio?

Studio version uses a spiral wrap tinned copper shield. This provides 100% shield coverage. They are great for studio use where they are set up and left in place with minimal handeling. The problem is the spiral shield design is prone to “separation” if handeled roughly or repeatedly, especially if bent to tightly. The stage version uses double braided shielding. This is a much more robust design and can better handle the rigors of stage use, however, even with double braiding, there are gaps in the shield and coverage is, while still respectable, only (I believe) 85%.

Yes, as long as it's the XLR and not USB version, it will.
