How good is it at filling a room for a party?

This speaker can fill a large living room no problem. It's a powerful speaker with 60W and the bass is very punchy and sounds crisp and clear.

I bought 2 of them and they have different bluetooth names in which case I'm unable to pair them. What should I do?

For to pair them together make sure your Smartphone Bluetooth off then choose which one is going to be the main speaker then press the power button twice quickly. Then should hear audible sound.

I read that there is a firmware update to improve the sound. Does this apply to this one you are selling?

There is indeed a firmware update; bloke on youtube called 'Naresh Lal' has a good video with a link to the files & guide. It's very straightforward - just make sure you start with the speaker switched off, and you'll be done in 2 minutes. Is the firmware update necessary? Honestly not sure as I just did it straight away - bit I can confirm the post update bass is quite something... (Note: I am not the seller)

Can this all be controlled via a phone, i.e volume, track, on/off ? Also can it play whist its plugged in charging ?

Yes it can be controlled via a phone.You can adjust your volume, pause etc with your phone but you will have to manually switch the speaker on or off completely but if you are not playing anything,you will not know that it is on.Yes you can also play it whistle it charges.All in all it is a great product.
