Great game. Slight dungeon crawl feel but without the dragging on.
I am so glad I picked this up. I had not played Warhammer Quest, but had friends who had and loved it. I did however have a lot of time spent playing Descent, which I enjoy very much. The Terrinoth setting is always fun to visit. The game is easy to learn, it does help if you have someone in your first playgroup who has played this or WQ. It sets up quickly and puts away even quicker. I have only played it with four players, however I think it would be fun with less. Overall I thought the missions were varied (both in content and difficulty) and that the heroes all had abilities that made them a great choice for certain missions. The quick upgrades help keep things fresh, and help to flesh out the different classes and their feel. Dice system is simple and I really think there a few other games that could benefit from this system. I am looking forward to picking up some expansions when they hit the shelves.

Great mechanics, good flow & easy to learn
Playing dungeon crawler style games solo is my thing these days. I bought Heores of Terrinoth with the intention of filling a gap in my collection. I was looking for a relatively quick play time, quick/easy game set-up, not too heavy, the ability to use strategy without the game controlling everything.I've played 4 solo games now, using 2 characters. The rounds fly by quickly with a really nice flow & remain engaging throughout. Even though the game plays in exactly the same way for each of the scenarios - the way that the game progresses changes quite dramatically & you do get those nice moments where the tables turn, leaving you wondering if you will actually manage to make it to the end or not. This is most definitely a keeper & I find it quite sad that Fantasy Flight have focussed all there attention on flogging Arkham to death with expansions when this gem of a game hasn't had a single expansion. The replayability is good - there are enough characters to experiment with using the provided scenarios to give you many different play thoughs...I also suspect that it would be quite easy to create your own random scenarios as well using different enemy combinations. This will now be my quick fix when I don't have the time/energy to play Gloomhaven :-)
