Does the paint really chip off so easily?

Hi to answer your question these are good quality items not cheaply made. My son uses his items on a daily basis I have noticed no paint chipping.

Do the fridge food items have barcodes on them for pretend scanning?

No they do not but my great grandchildren pretend they are scanning the barcode. The play cash register has a hand held scanner.

We purchased and like this set; however there are many reports of there being lead and barium in M&D paints. Can anyone show me how to find out?
