Camping knife that doubles as a good yard work companion.
While I haven't really tested it out yet, the Ranger is a model I've always wanted. The saw blade will especially come in handy for small shrubs and stalky weeds that try to infest the perimeter of my house. As a collector, I've no doubt the Victorinox saw can handle it easily. This knife has a lot of tools and is more compact than I thought it was going to be for a 5 layer pocket knife. My only small gripes are the 2 abrasions on the front scale, one on the back scale, and a very small bump on the main blade (top of it thankfully) I didn't notice until I cleaned the entire knife. Oddly enough, it was dirty with what looked like cardboard fibers. I think this knife has been out of the box, and I don't think it was handled roughly during shipping because the box was in good shape (aside from the lid closed, but looking opened), and a CD I'd ordered from you arrived in the same package in perfect shape. I could be wrong, but I found those cardboard fiber things all over it strange as there was nothing in in the package made of the stuff. Anyway, after some cleaning, I suppose I can overlook those minor things. I don't plan on being gentle with this knife anyway, it's going to go through some yard work and become one of my EDCs, so some scuffing is inevitable. But when you order something advertised as new, you kind of want it to arrive in that shape. Still a 5/5, the tools were well oiled, and opened/closed flawlessly like a Victorinox would.

There is no app for what this can do for you.
This is a very handy and versatile pocket or purse knife with many usable and well used tools. I am 70 years and have had a Victorinox knife in my pocket for 60 of those years. Starting out with the tinker and trying others over the decades. The Ranger is, for me, just the right balance between heft and having a useful quick fix tool ready to hand. At my age; I have many a tall, but true, tale to tell about each of the blades and tools. The Ranger is a handy-dandy, well made, assistant in life's many little daily happenstances.

G.O.A.T Status
One of the most well rounded Victorinox SAKs out there. It has the perfect toolset for outdoor use, camping, bush crafting, wilderness survival. I prefer this to the Huntsman, the extra layer with the file and chisel make it more useful as a tool for me. Even though its a 5 layer knife, the implements are thin and lightweight so it ends up being comparable in size to a few 4 layer SAKs like the Explorer, Deluxe Tinker etc. It fits in the palm perfectly, is well made, durable and all the implements are easily opened. Overall its one of the best SAKs in my opinion. Depending on how patient you are you can find this knife even around the mid to high $40’s making it incredible in value for money.

The real deal
UPDATE: I found some black plus scales that come with the pen and accessories for about $15, and swapped the scales. Can recommend this as it makes me feel like this tool really can do it all. Very impressed with the quality right out of the box, I have recently delved into the world of multitools and this is my first legit Swiss Army knife . The smoothness of the tools is great and I can tell it is quality. The saw is really toothy and I imagine it will function, scissors are good, decently compact for what you get as well. Good gift for an outdoorsy person. The handles will scratch if you look at them wrong.

my edc favorite swiss army knife
I wish it had a locking main blade, but for me this is the holy grail of useful outdoor pocket knives. Its the only one I know with the outstanding scissors, a saw, an awl, and a useful file. I do some bush crafting and this is my EDC knife. Its a lot lighter and more pocket worthy than my wave, which now lives in my SAR pack.

Huntsman VS Ranger not just a file but two more tools up the backside
As an old guy I routinely carry a SAK when I go outside. For me they offer extensions to the tooth and nail vs carrying a tool bag/chest with proper sized tools. I do enjoy the many Vids of creative people building a shelter and using them in survival situations.... They give me many ideas that frankly there is no way in hell I wouldn't use a proper tool for but in a pinch that one time in band camp I shoved the SAK into the Philips head screw and tightened it down so the trip went on.... Soooo that leads to just what SAK to carry.... and that I have two, either the compact two layer with + scales .OR. if I'm going to wear trousers with a belt (not elastic waist shorts) A multi layer heavy with additional get outa a jamb tools. My two favorites, the four layer Huntsman and the five layer Ranger... For the added weight and width, the excellent file on the Ranger makes it well worth the carry penalty. As to its handling, its still comfortable to grip unlike the champ which gets overly wide to utilize. For my hands the 4 and 5 layer are the sweet spot, even better than the 2 layer Compact. Be sure to look into the eyeglass screwdriver that nests in the corkscrew as well as firestarter options and the Pinhole behind the corkscrew. I like to add the + scales for the pen, a real PITA to have on your person for its infrequent use these days.

Best Victorinox combination of tools for size.
Received my first Ranger in 1974 and have carried one as EDC since. They are exceptionally durable and sharpen well. The tools are all practical and useful. I fing I have to replace it every decade or so - more or less - because I either misplace it or someone wants mine mor3 than I. I will not be without this knife.

Great all purpose Victorinox SAK
I'm a collector of Victorinox Swiss Army Knives but I try not to get ones that have tools that are redundant with the other ones that I have. The Ranger has is great knife and multi tool. Not too small, not too big. Has everything I need for hike or just EDC around the house or cottage.

Buenisima calidad.
Mi padre siempre ha tenido navajas de esta marca. Son de muy buena calidad, con bastantes funciones y este modelo en especial trae el logotipo de camping que la hace especial.

Amazing quality, practical tool
As expected this is perfect! Victorinox knives are the best. I had a couple different Victorinox pocket knives in my life and I’d always buy this pocket knife over and over again.

The best SAK out there
I was thinking about buying an Huntsman but then decided to buy this; It has a metal file and a chisel extra while having a similar thickness to that of a Huntsman. These two tools comes in handy for multiple things. People who are wondering how something so small can cost like this, you will realise the value it offers only after you own it. Based on reviews one can use it even for 20 years if you don't loose it. Please don't compare it with similar looking Multi tools available for 300rs or even the amazon basic tool as the quality is unmatched. All I could say it was worth its price. MRP was 4500, but with discount and bank offer I got it for 3200.
