Any recommendations on what type of seeds to get for this or does it not matter?

We recommend starting with fast-germinating seeds such as bean or pea seeds. After that, it's fun to experiment. The included, kid-friendly activity guide has lots of seed suggestions. We hope you'll post photos of what you grow so we can all see the beautiful roots!

One of the flasks leaks, does anyone have a solution to repair this?

Hello Amazon Customer! Sorry you were having this issue. Please reach out to me at gethelp@educationalinsights.com and I would be happy to replace it.

Will this bring pests like regular gardening?

This is more of a science experiment, not true hydroponic gardening. It won't bring pests unless you have them in your home already.

Will it work to grow herbs in the kitchen?

Hi JulieMmmmThere shouldn't be a problem growing herbs in the Nancy B's Science Club Way to Grow Hydroponics Kit & Gardening Diary. One of our product managers actually has been growing herbs in her kitchen in this, she said that basil has been growing like crazy :)
