Strong magnet and has good range. Highly recommend.
This CB antenna works great. We use it with one of those Cobra handheld CB radios. The antenna that comes with those is a joke, so we were very pleased with our upgrade to this more long range antenna. It doesn't compare to the huge antennas that are mounted on most big rig trucks, but considering we're in an SUV, those would look kind of odd. This is a great inbetween. Hard to even notice it mounted on our vehicle. The magnet sticks well and has never come off. It has a good range, generally you can talk to any truck you can see on the highway in front or behind you. Highly recommend this item.

Perfect for limited space.
Works perfectly, as expected. I bought for use on my new SUV. To go on the roof, couldn't have one that was too long or tall. This works fine. It's short enough to get in garages, etc., without hitting anything. It seems to receive and transmit satisfactorily.

Decent Antenna, Tuning Required!
It's a short CB antenna, you're never going to talk and listen miles and miles away with it, but for fairly close range communications it works. SWR on mine connected to a Cobra 19 Mini was AWFUL out of the box at over 3:1. Had to trim at least an inch and a half off to get channel 1 reading 1.1:1 and 40 reading about 1.4:1. Knocking off one star because the set screw started to strip during the trimming process, and I wasn't even torquing it down tight. Otherwise this seems to be a nice close range antenna.

Decent for price
This antenna is pretty decent for the price. It does perform fairly well, I was able to talk up to ~1.5 miles away on the open road (measured using Google Earth and two separate vehicles) and receive from maybe 2 to 3 miles away (some trucks I could hear before I could talk to them, even though they were running barefoot) so the performance is pretty decent. The build quality is very nice, the plastic feels durable, the whip is made of stainless steel and painted black, the antenna is flexible, but has a base and a mid load coil. the actual plastic base where you insert the antenna ALSO has a coil in it, in addition to the one visible on the antenna. This is what dampens the effectiveness of this antenna to poor performance ranges. The antenna comes tuned for channel 1. I have two of these antennas and BOTH where tuned for channel 1 out of the box. You will HAVE to cut about 1/2 inch of the antenna (good luck) before you get the antenna tuned for channel 20. It does tune fairly easy though. Once tuned, I received SWR readings of 1.6 on channel 1, 1.8 on channel 40, and 1.2 on channel 20. Cutting this 1/8 in SS whip is no laughing matter. Use bolt cutters. Good, bolt cutters. It actually damaged my cheaper bolt cutters, rendering them useless. As for the power handling capability. This antenna should not be used on amplified CB radios or used with linear amplifiers. The base load coil (the one in the plastic at the very bottom, not the visible one on the whip) will get warm and you will feel it mildly warm if you touch it after transmitting for 30 or so seconds. It may say 100 watts, and it does handle that much, but you will not actually get that much radiated power because you're going to be losing half if not more of that power to heat and dielectric loss because of the cheap base load coil. If you go over 100 watts, you're playing a game of "when do I want to short my antenna". I deducted two stars for the heat problem even when just using a CB that swings a little large. Yes, you're better CB radios that may swing ~18 or so watts will actually heat this antenna pretty good. For kicks I tested it with a 12 watt dead key and swing of 50 watts, and it sure did get hot. Thermometer read about 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with surrounding air at 55 degrees, at night. You have been warned. Besides the fact that the base load coil is markedly cheap and hardly handles 100 watts safely, the construction quality is excellent, the plastics do not feel cheap, the whip feels sturdy, the coax is 18 feet long, RG-58/U flexible, the PL-259 plug on the end is decent quality. Easy to tune, easy to use. The magnet holds strong even going 75 MPH. Not ugly, and easily hidden. However, get the Wilson Little Wil if you can, it can actually handle more power, and doesn't get warm, plus, it works about 200% better than this one and is only an extra foot and a few inches of antenna length.

Works, required ferrite beads
This is among the smallest CB antennas on the market. There is a performance tradeoff that comes with the smaller size. Set your expectations accordingly. Mine was tuned perfectly out of the box, but it picked up so much noise from the electronics in my car that it was unusable with the engine running. The stereo speakers also buzzed whenever I transmitted. I placed three snap-on ferrite beads spaced along the length of the coax, and a fourth larger one with a couple loops in it near the radio. After placing the beads, the noise was significantly reduced, the speaker buzzing stopped, and other stations were able to hear me. Not bad.

Good CB antenna
Good CB antenna, strong magnet. The little rubber cap at the bottom to keep the magnet from scratching the roof of your vehicle easily slips off, and could use a little dot of glue or something. Overall, the cable seems solid, is very long, and the antenna held up to an afternoon in the mountains, and several hundred miles of highway driving. It will not stand up to a branch sweeping it, but does not seem any worse for wear being knocked down dozens of times. Range wasn't as good as some other's, but for the price, I can't complain too much.

Good antenna at a reasonable price.
The antenna is well made and sturdy. the base is heavy and will not slide once set on the car. The cord attached to the CB without incident and is plenty long enough. I got this for my neighbor and she is thrilled. She has been looking all over town for a new antenna but could not find one This was an answer to her prayer.

This one is about 3" wide magnet, not 4"
Cobra HG A1000 18.5 inch Magnetic Mount CB Antenna – Heavy Duty Magnet, For use in Cars, SUVS Recreational Vehicles 100 Watt Power Handling Capability, Black: This one is about 3" wide magnet, not 4", for the 18" tall antenna. The ad description read that the base ws 4 inches wide in diameter. It is not, it between 2-3" inches wide. Buyer beware. Not what I needed or wanted as there are several other out there for 1/2 the price at even 3-4". Not sure what we gain in the higher price of this antenna. I ordered the 18" tall, but the 18" came with a 2-3" base. The packaging was untapped, loose, unpacked, slot, disorganized; I could tell that another buyer had it, returned it- but Amazon or the seller never took the 60 seconds to secure it neatly. Disappointed in the false description. 2'-3" magnet bases fall off in a automatic car wash. I cannot vouch for the taller one, who knows how wide that base might be.

No era exactamente lo que esperaba
El producto lo habia visto relacionado al 38WXST. Desafortunadamente no fue así pero otros compañeros me informan que se puede colocar un adaptador para utilizar con el equipo.
