Everybody Should Read This!
If you don’t believe in therapy, then you should read this. If you are someone who is taking therapy, then you should also read this. This book is amazing. I have not only gifted this book to my friends, but I’ve also bought for myself is journal and a diary, although I have not started using the diary yet, but I revisiting this book over and over again. This book is also useful to be kept at workplace library. I would also recommend this book to anyone going through a break up or loss of someone. I read this book during my difficult times, and I still visited when I need an answer .

A book that makes you feel like you have a private session with your therapist.
I went on vacation for two weeks and I have been glued to this book for around three days straight. Came back still thinking about it and bought it as one of the gifts for my best friend on her 30th birthday as well. It is the perfect mix of things to be learned plus various funny conversations, not to be missed!

Starts strong then loses its way
It’s starts out so well but then meanders, also it jumps from character to character in each chapter breaking the flow of the narration- hard to remember who everyone is.

Life lessons written with vulnerability and care
I bought this book when I was going through a tough time. The reviews looked great, although I must say I was sceptical about how many fervent positive comments there were about the book; surely it cannot be THAT life changing. It was 6 months before I started to read it, but I'm glad I picked it when I did, the stories and knowledge and experience in the book came at just the right time. I LOVED the book. It was written so so beautifully. Gottlieb is an excellent writer, the way she manages to create intricate plots out of people's life stories and hooks you in is simply fantastic. I have qualms with non-fiction books which use jargon and have a narrative voice that gives off "better than thou" energy. So I was happy that this book shared so much professional expertise in an easy to understand way and with a tone that was warming and approachable. I must say I read the book quickly, wanting to know what happens next. However, there were so many beautiful and striking quotes, I shall be re-reading it and noting these down with care so I can refer back to these again and again. I really do recommend this book, in fact I have to the people in my life, passing the book around. I think in many ways, if you are struggling, you may see yourself reflected in her stories and in her patients' stories and you might just find yourself in a position to change your life.

A Profoundly Moving and Insightful Read
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone is a heartfelt, funny, and deeply human memoir that offers a rare peek into the mind of a therapist—both as a professional and as a patient. Lori Gottlieb’s storytelling is raw, honest, and filled with humor, making complex emotions feel relatable and accessible. She masterfully weaves together her own personal struggles with those of her clients, showing the universal nature of healing and self-discovery. This book is equal parts eye-opening, entertaining, and emotionally profound—highly recommended for anyone who enjoys psychology, personal growth, or simply a beautifully written story.

Pretty good purchase
I found this hardcover book to be a great deal for the price. The only downside was the removable belt on the cover, which made it uncomfortable to hold, so I took it off for easier reading. While flipping through, I noticed a few stains on some m of the pages at temhe end, possibly from handling during packaging since I didnt recieve it witha plastic cover. Though it’s a minor issue, it didn’t affect my ability to enjoy the book. Overall, still a solid purchase for the price.

Great read, with applicable thought-provoking content
I’ve got to say, I read a lot! I don’t remember the last time I opened a book, was mesmerized from the get-go, captured, captivated, intrigued and just didn’t want to put it down. I’m not sure if it’s all Lori or a combination of the author and the editor but someone there did an amazing job at making you feel like you’re sitting right across from the author, having a coffee and a most thought-provoking conversation with incredible heart, depth and “”Neshoma (translated as soul but, actually The essence of who we are) Huge congratulations on a job well done! I would also highly suggest this as, (being in the profession), a High priority read on any therapists list. Although most Incredible for new therapists starting to see clients, there is great insight and and perspective perhaps sometimes overlooked by therapists that have been practising for many years influenced by traditional therapy where everything must either have scientific proof and reason and sometimes even hasty in putting their diagnoses in the “name box” just because… it’s got to fit somewhere. Read, as you learn to listen with your Neshama hearing theirs.
