Wrangler Men's Retro Slim Fit Boot Cut Jean

I was looking for a quality alternative to Levi's 527 bootcut jeans, which are my long-term go to and eventually settled on these Wrangler Retro Slim Fit boot jeans. Typical of Wrangler, these have all the hallmarks of an established, quality-made pair of denims; robust material, strong stitching, rivets in the right places etc. In terms of fit, they run true to size and are not dissimilar to the Levi's 527 cut, with the exception of the ankle opening, which is just slightly narrower (17" rather than 18" in circumference) but still, comfortably fit over boot upstands. All in all, really pleased with these and I will buy further pairs in the future.

Great fitting jeans! Perfect length for slight stacking over my boots too. Love how they feel compared to some other styles of Wranglers that I own (mostly 13mwz or 936) but for some reason these feel way more comfortable. I barely know I’m wearing them 🤠 I wasn’t aware that they had been shipped over from the US, which suits me as we can’t buy anything from the US Wrangler Store in the UK

I love the fit and feel of these jeans but that comfort comes at an obvious cost i.e. the denim is so thin and weak that the backside of jeans at the corners of both back pockets have ripped in exactly the same spot. On closer inspection you can see that the denim is just way, way too thin and weak to stand up to anything. You can also see from my photo that the finish of the rivets is really very very cheap. I'm fairly cheesed off actually as I've bought 3 pairs of these and I can see the remaining two are going to go the same way. Decent fitting jeans are so hard to find that I might even get them repaired.

I ordered a pair of these jeans for myself (I'm a female!) in the Dax shade and was happy with them when they arrived. They looked good and felt good, if perhaps slightly lightweight for some people. Sadly though, even though I ordered a longer length than usual they were SOO long that it was a bit ridiculous! Also, I'd been concerned that they might be tight around the waist as a previous pair of Wrangler men's jeans I'd ordered (Texas Slim, Cash Black) had been far too tight as to be unwearable, and they were the same size waist as these Retro Boot Fit ones. This time, to my delight, I could easily get into these jeans with ease BUT, big disappointment, now these were WAAAAAY too big all around! Not only were they a bit capacious around the waist (by 1-2 sizes!) but they were baggy everywhere and not slim fitting at all! They bagged around the bum, the hips, the thighs and calves too!! They were so baggy around the hips and thighs that I could pull the material out to the side and they looked like pantaloons / MC Hammer pants .. NOT a good look or the look I was hoping for!! I was SOOO incredibly disappointed as the price was so much cheaper than many of the other sizes and shades of these jeans and I'm not paying triple or more for a pair that fit properly so they have to be returned. Instead, I'm going for a pair of Wrangler women's riding jeans that are currently being sold in the size I need (I think - they're a weird US sizing that we in the UK are not used to so I've had to spend ages trying to work out the sizing to try to tell if they are the right UK size for me!) at around the same price as my pair of these men's Retro jeans. Fingers crossed the women's jeans are going to be a good fit - if not I may stick more with Lee jeans that seem to give a better, more reliable fit.

Retro jeans are great as back pockets dong hang down to ur knees. Very good denim , only downside is get size smaller with these been stretch denim , im 34 waist had to send them back and got 32 waist . Much better fit
