I am so happy I listened to my ADHD impulse.
This lyre harp is BEAUTIFUL. The sound is so soothing and mesmerising. It took some patience to tune, and the strings went a little out of tune rather quickly but I watched some YouTube videos that explained this is normal as the strings settle, so it’s nothing too bothersome! It is a very well-made instrument. It has good weight to it and you can feel how good the quality is. I would highly recommend this for a beginner! It was great value for money too. 🖤

Magical and beautiful!
I have been wanting to learn an instrument for a while, and stumbled across the lyre whilst reading Song of Achilles. After several reviews talking about the trouble with tuning, I must admit that I was worried, but I couldn't be happier or more surprised! Perhaps it was a previous manufacturing fault that has since been rectified, but I found tuning my lyre to be easy and straight forward. There has been a very slight slipping of notes, as one would expect with new strings, but they are already settling and were quickly rectified - and I have played it a lot over the last couple of days! Small adjustments made a huge difference and the sound is absolutely magical! My dad, who has had a lot of guitar experience, even started to play it. Would 100% recommend to those with or without musical experience.

Great for the Price, needs to be tuned out of the box heavily.
A great little wooden Lyre Harp. 16 metal strings with replacements provided to replace any worn out from use. It needs to be heavily tuned out of the box using the provided tool and a tuning app/ gadget. The only bad point is that due to the low price point, the eyelets where the strings meet the body are very thin. This means repeated tight tunings will eventually cause the strings to cut into the wooden body, eventually making the instrument unplayable after a few years of heavy use.

Very happy, much better than other brands
The lyre sounds great and holds its tune nicely after the first couple of times. I'd tried a different brand before but this one is much better quality in both the materials and the sound it makes. It is nice and easy to play even for someone like me with no musical experience. It came with everything listed in the advert, the bag is nicely padded and comfy to wear so perfect if you need to travel with the instrument.

Such a lovely lyre harp
I love my lyre harp. This is a good size and quality, not too small, just right for a portable harp, I prefer this design with its brass tube bridge instead of the wood. The sound on this harp is great, and because it's hollow with the hole in the centre it has a lovely sound volume that resonates, it is a beautiful instrument, I like the storage bag, though personally I would have much preferred a hard back case to protect the string pegs however, some brands just provide a useless sack, so for this bag I am grateful, and it does have light padding inside. I'm really pleased overall, happy me.

Great sound
Bought this for my partner who wanted to learn the welsh harp, but they are a bit big to take camping, so got her this instead. She is over the moon with it and has learned it very quickly and makes so wonderful sounds with it.

Nice alternative to other instruments
I bought this on impulse. I just thought it would give another sound to my recordings, which are mostly guitar, vocals and piano. It's very easy to pick up. Tuning is fine, but you have to be very careful to turn the tuners in very small notches. I'm glad I added it to my repertoire.

Well made
This was a gift for someone, so I’ve no direct experience playing the instrument. But I’m told it’s a useful and well made item for a musician’s collection.

Good for beginners, need a week to tune it!
EDIT: Won't stay tuned a couple months in. I've tuned it a bit too much (trying to play songs with flats/sharps in them) and now several of the middle strings won't stay tuned. I'm having to take the pegs out and DIY fix them based on reddit advice by putting wood glue in the holes, letting it dry, then re-stringing it, essentially making the peg holes tighter. (Originally I tried putting paper in the peg holes which hasn't worked, so wood glue is the next thing I'm trying.) Re-stringing it is doable even by someone who isn't experienced, but still very difficult. If the wood glue fix doesn't work, I guess I can take it to a professional to fix all the pegs, but it kinda sucks as I was enjoying playing it at first, but not if it's out of tune. If you only kept it tuned to the base notes, I don't think you'd have this problem. But tuning it to sharps or flats, I think you may get this problem pretty quick. I didn't over-tune the strings, just one step up or down, I think it's just tuning them too frequently caused this. Original review: Arrived with no damage. I'm completely new to stringed instruments and I agree that this is a good instrument for beginners. You can play a lot of songs on it, you'll just have to tune some of the strings to sharp/flat if the song requires. The initial tuning will be the most offputting part for beginners. Keep in mind that you'll have to re-tune it every day or every other day for a week or so before it will stay in tune; the strings just need time to settle. I found it much easier to look up "16-string lyre harp tuning" on youtube and tune it by ear to a video, rather than trying to use a tuning app on my phone. I wasn't sure if I'd feel motivated to play this, so I wanted to buy this cheaper model. I have actually wanted to play it after getting it tuned because it's easy to pick up and play. And there's no definitive way you have to hold it; just play it however feels comfortable. Overall I'm glad I got this and I think it will be good as a beginner instrument if you want an inexpensive hobby. I actually find it fun and calming to play it, even when I'm just practicing a song over and over again.
