Do this or the screws rust due to weather

Hi, anything made of metal and then coated with paint(all be it very good paint) will eventually rust. You would need to repaint this latch when it shows signs of rusting. If you want a latch that will not rust you will need to buy one that is made of Galvanised metal and this will come in a silver colour. I hope this helps you.

I’ve got one of these, fitted it and although it catches - it also uncatches with just a small nudge or a strong gust of wind. Have I fitted wrong?

Yes ours is the same, I have made a metal rod to go in the hole at the top to prevent it. Poor product in my humble opinion.

What size padlock can i use with this?
