Makes Your Paint Feel Like Glass Again
Makes Your Paint Feel Like Glass Again The Chemical Guys Medium Duty Clay Bar and Luber Kit is one of those products that really delivers on its promise. I used it on a daily driver that sits outdoors year-round and had years of built-up grime and fallout baked into the paint. After washing, I could feel the roughness on the surface—almost like fine sandpaper. One careful pass with this clay and lubricant combo changed that completely. The paint became slick and smooth to the touch, the kind of finish that makes water bead effortlessly once waxed. The clay bar itself has the perfect balance—soft and pliable, yet dense enough to pull contaminants like tree sap, tar, and brake dust without falling apart or sticking. The included Clay Luber works very well; it provides enough glide that the bar never drags or mars the surface. The kit smells pleasant (a clean, synthetic scent), and a single bar is plenty for multiple vehicles if you keep folding it to expose fresh surfaces. I used it on paint, glass, and even chrome trim—all came out smooth and clean. It’s an excellent prep step before polishing or applying ceramic sealant. For older cars, the difference in gloss is immediate once you finish a panel. Tips: Always use generous lubricant and work small sections. If the clay gets dropped, discard it immediately—it’ll pick up grit from the ground. Store the bar in a resealable bag with a light mist of lube to keep it soft for future use. Bottom line: an essential detailing kit that removes years of embedded grime and restores that “new car” smoothness. Easy to use, great value, and a noticeable upgrade for anyone serious about maintaining their vehicle’s finish.

Excellent product that delivers great results
My car care experience started in the Rain Dance/Simoniz era of the 70s, where all you knew was hours of hard labor. Wax on wax off, rub rub rub, get another towel, check it again oh crud there's still more wax to remove, you know the drill. Fast forward to the modern era... I ventured into using clay bars about a decade ago, a spray detailer/clay bar kit from Mothers impulse buy at Walmart. I repurchased the same product a couple of times and though was happy with it I felt it was time to try something new. The reviews on this product were enough to tip me away from Mothers and the results are tremendously different. Application and usage is generally the same with all of these products. Mist an area, rub with light pressure back and forth. Microfiber towel dry. Smash the bar and flatten. Repeat. I could tell a *noticeable* difference in the feel of the car surface but I wasn't sure it was real or my imagination. I was planning to wax both cars so I did a quick test. I had some Mothers left over so I used that on the hood of one car and Chemical Guys on the other. Sure as heck it was different! The CG application felt smoother and more glossy. I did another test gently gliding a clean and dry microfiber towel across both surfaces. The Mothers surface glide did ok but had some resistance. The CG surface glide resulted in the towel sliding right off the hood and onto the floor! I'm sold! I use Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Spray Wax 2.0. I know... it's not ceramic but for me it's easy without the PTSD memories of the 70s. Just wipe a very thin layer on and let 'er dry. It worked great over the top of the CG clay bar application. Easy on and easy off. The results are amazing. Both cars just sparkle! The best part was that I did both cars (Outback and Forester) in about 4 hours, and most of that time was waiting for the wax to dry. And I'm not wiped out! With less labor and a reasonable time commitment, I find that I wax the cars more than once a year. Anyway... thanks for reading my review this far. So here's a little present for you... a dad car joke: What do you get when dinosaurs crash their cars? Tyrannosaurus wrecks. YUK YUK Have a blessed day!

It worked on my sticky car
Over a period of time, my car developed a sticky residue and no matter what I did, it would not get better. I washed, stripped, and waxed but nothing worked. I finally ended up buying this clay bar kit and as I was using it, I could feel the surface getting smoother. After waxing the car, it looks brand new and no more sticky feel. It is quite labor intensive, but well worth it.

A well-priced clay kit.
A very well priced clay kit with a few issues. I found this clay kit to fit most of my needs but I can't say I'll be giving them another shot for my next clay purchase. So let's cut to the chase: Pros: - Clay luber spray is excellent! It has a pleasant smell and really is slick. It makes gliding the clay very easy. - The clay removed most surface contamination to my liking. - Depending on the soil level, I found the one clay kit could hit two cars (a hatchback and a small SUV) with ease. - Small detail, but I like that the clay came in a plastic container that you can store it in. Cons: - "Medium" didn't really feel true to description. I had what I reasonably believed to be medium level contamination on my car and I still found myself going back over some areas in detail. I still feel this clay is on the lighter duty side of things. It took care of most of my needs though. - I couldn't tell any difference when used on glass, and I've used other clays on glass with great results. - Spray bottle is pretty small. I got it through a car and a half and had to switch to another product. - The grey clay is pretty dark and it can be difficult to judge how fouled it is. - The clay is indeed a bit harder to mold than other clays I've used. Not awful, but not great. Overall, I felt this was a decent value. The spray luber is great, just wish we got more of it. I'll dock one star for some of these above issues, but I still feel like it's a decent choice for clay. I'll be trying a different brand next time around, but I could see myself coming back to Chemical Guys.

More impressive than a Vegas magic show
Every once a while one would come across a product that makes them feel money well spent, this was one of them. I was blown away by the results. It was my first time using a clay bar. I thought it was complicated but that was not the case. It was as easy as spray, rub the bar of clay on my car, wash off the residues. I watched 14 years of dirt and grime deposit on the paint of my car rub off right before my eyes. Thanks Chemical Guy for making this amazing, user friendly, and affordable product. I'm a long time fan.

Works Great on Tire Scuffs
I hit a tire on the Interstate leaving me with a flat and a lot of tire scuffs on my white SUV. Ouch. I Googled how to get the scuffs out and clay bar was the top recommendation. I ordered and received this Chemical Guys bar with lube a day later and went to work on a freshly-washed side panel. I sprayed the lube on the car or on the clay bar, both produced the desired gliding effects. As I ran the clay bar over the scuffs I was able to remove most of them so that all that's left is faint. It was a lot of elbow grease and the bar changed into a clump, but an hour later and you can see the results. Afterwards, I used some Fortify Shine Armor (also purchased from Amazon years ago) and it looks as good as I can get. What a relief after all that damage!

Went to their website and found all the products but since I live in Hawaii it was gonna cost me like $50 for shipping alone
We had our screen door painted and the painters got overspray on my van as they spray painted 6 feet away from it. Went to multiple auto detailing place and they charge $300 and upwards. So decided to doing the job myself. I look up how to clay bar a car in youtube and chemical guys how to clay bar your car came up. Watched it and was blown away about the video and the company's attention to detail. Look it up and you'll know what I'm talking about. That's the reason why I went with them. Went to their website and found all the products but since I live in Hawaii it was gonna cost me like $50 for shipping alone. I was ecstatic when I found it on Amazon and also found a tech bargain deal. I bought this along with the Chemical guys Jet seal, Silk Shine Dressing, Microfiber Applicator, Microfiber Mitt, and Citrus Wash and Gloss (the best wash ever). I guess you can say I went all out! I give all these products five star. I wash my van really well with the Citrus wash dried it and clayed in small sections and wipe it with microfiber cloth before I starting another section. The clay bar and luber was just enough for my honda odyssey. I half the clay bar and used it on one side then I used the other half for the rest of the car. You really gotta take your time doing this and preferably indoors. This is my first time doing it and I love the results. It removed all the overspray effortlessly. It exceeded my expectation. After claying I again wash the whole van with the citrus wash as recommended in their video. Dried it and applied the jet seal which seals your paint and supposedly protect you paint for twelves months from overspray, water spots, and makes it harder for dirt and grime to stick to the car. Only time will tell. I was also very impressed with the Jet seal. It left my van unbelievably shiny. I used the Silk shine for my tires and your can also used it on interior dash board and trims but I haven't tried yet. I recommend watching their video or a video if you have never clay bar your car before. All in all, all the products met and exceeded my expectation and I highly recommend it.

Worth the money and delivers results as advertised.
Been using these two products as a tandem for years on clear coats, headlights, and windshield glass. Work great together.

Excelente producto
Excelente marca

Worked well, feels like great quality.
Great kit. Used it for my first time claying a car so I have nothing to compare it against. The lubricant really made the clay glide with ease and was easy to clean up with a microfibre cloth. There is plenty of clay to do several vehicles several times if you don’t drop any. I used about 1/3 for a civic and it was plenty. However, I used over half of the bottle of lubricant just doing the civic and I probably wasn’t using as much as I should. This kit is good to do any 1 vehicle but you’ll have to buy more lubricant to do any more than that.

Recuerden usar movimientos rectos, y no circulares. Utilicen abundante lubricante, si no lo hacen podrian rayar la pintura. Si llegan a rayarla mucho, podrian usar un glaze para rellenar esas rayas, o si es demasiado y su pintura ya lo amerita, podrian pulir.
