First off the mic has a 3.5mm headphone jack which is a rarity these days, but even if you have one this isn't usable. This is wired as a headphone and mic combo with 3.5mm pass through for headphones, so if you try to plug it into a regular 3.5mm mic jack it isn't going to work because the placement of the connections is wrong. You can get an adapter, but even then its of limited use. It has very low gain even with all my sliders maxed out, so the recording comes out so soft that its unusable. I knew I was taking a gamble with a $8 mic but gave it a shot as it had 15K reviews and a 4 star average. Clearly those reviews don't belong to what is being sold on this listing now

Tiktok made me buy it haha. I do love this mic for the cute animal videos I can make using it. The only thing is, when I first got it and started recording, I noticed a really loud tapping noise. I twisted off the top and the mic piece was kind of dangling there by the wire, not properly glue down. This was easily fixed with some super glue, though, so not too big of a deal. But if you notice a weird sound when moving the mic, just check to make sure your mic piece (the white piece in my photo) is actually glued down.

Microphone quality is great. For the price you are buying it, it makes a huge difference. If you need to buy an adapter for Iphone, you MUST buy one that is for AUDIO NOT HEADPHONES, these are not as common to buy. There is also microphones on Amazon you can buy that are already suited for Iphone. The adapter I recommend is a 3.5mm TRRS (Female) to Lightning (Male) Audio Adapter by BOYA (10-15$). The pop filter that comes with the mic is definitely needed to stop that popping sounds while talking. If you plan to buy from a different store, I would make sure that they have the pop filter included like this one does!

*EDIT* I LOVE THIS THING. It doesn’t work w older phones and you have to unplug to listen but it’s the best little thing. It’s so funny looking and makes me sound funnier than I am somehow. Would recommend. The mics don’t work. We were hopeful. Thought they were so cute. They don’t pick up any sound at all. Maybe ours are just defective? But we got 2 and neither works. We did all the steps in the reviews. Recorded with it plugged in, in plugged after recording, the phone picked up the sound not the mic.

Jim had me on standby for a minute but all and all, PERFECT for breaking news Instagram updates. I bought the more expensive one as well. (I wanted to see if there was a quality difference), but nope, they’re exactly the same. Go with the cheaper one. $7.99 is a steal for this. This one came with a stand & a mini black pop filter. The more expensive one did NOT but arrived in a tin container. The quality is pretty good for the price. I think it would be best used for soft speaking or ASMR because it only goes to 0 dB but EXCELLENT with noise cancelation for the room or surrounding area. One thing to note is that if you have a newer iphone, you’re going to need a headphone jack adapter (in my picture). I already had one so it was easy for me to use. If not, you’re going to have to spend an extra $20 on getting an Apple headphone jack adapter. The cord that plugs it in, also has an offshoot cord so you can wear your own headphones (same as the reg jack, not compatible with NEW headphones from Apple) Looking forward to using it for my slime videos but so far so good👌🏼

I was excited to finally get a microphone for my guitar and this was cheap. i understand it's probably not going to be the greatest simply because it's so cheap but it's almost unusable for a guitar. from what i have tested, it works decent for singing or any vocal related things but even putting the whole microphone inside or by the sound hole of the guitar without the filter and with the volume boosted as far as it can on my recording software, it still was too quiet. amplifying leaves sound distortions and you're better off just using your phone's microphone at that point so im a bit disappointed. I would have gave it one star but i guess i could use it for vocals even though i dont sing.

Después de leer casi todos los comentarios y ver muchos negativos diciendo que no funcionaba aun así lo quise comprar por que se me hace tierno y si no funcionaba iba para mi colección de miniaturas. Compré este adaptador para poder usarlo con el celular: UGREEN Adaptador USB C a Jack 3.5 mm, DAC Chip HiFi Audio Adaptador para Auricular. Me recomendaron específicamente el que dice "DAC" Grabe y no se escuchaba aun y que el celular reconocía el micrófono y me avisaba que estaba grabando con micrófono externo. Intenté con el iPad por que no necesitaba el adaptador y paso lo mismo. En algún punto quité el micrófono y volví a poner los videos y me di cuenta que no se escucha si tienes el micrófono puesto y en realidad si funciona jajaja 😅 No es la mejor calidad pero para el precio está bien. EN RESUMEN: si funciona pero para escuchar el video tienes que desconectar el micrófono.
