No, the best you could probably do is around a 2'' batman figure.

How does the cockpit open?

There is just one piece that covers the cockpit. Is the roof and two doors molded as one and sits on top. I have seen some builds where these have been cut apart to mount a hatch open. The interior is the only disappointment of the kit. It lacks any detail of the actual movie car so would take some doing to make an accurate cockpit. I have seen it done online. The kit does look great when done as I just finished it. It is a monster. See post below about green strawberry. That should handle any interior and other detail issues.
