No it's does not come with the finger guard.

Does this julienne thinner than the julienne blades on the V Slicer plus or is it the same?

it is sharp, and easy to use. Unfortunately, only 1 option with blade, the shredded pieces is too thin, lost texture, NOT as I expected, so I am not really happy for such expensive item. I do NOT recommend this item.

Would this work to julienne cucumber for a Kani Salad

I never made Kani salald, but from what I see in pictures, yes, this slicer will Julienne cucumbers thinly. I use it for shredding vegetables for salads, carrots, beets, everything that is fairly solid. for somewhat larger shreds, I have another kitchen tool, - V Mandolin Vegetable/Fruit Slicer Cutter Chopper + Safety Holder (White) - from Amazon. The holder is useful for protecting the fingers , and the Swissmar does not come with one.. I use one of these daily . A must in my kitchen.

Would this work for zucchini pasta or would the full mandolin be better

Hi Mamakitty , you should get the full mandolin there sre two different insets for thin stripes the juliennen slicer makes very thin stripes ( too thin for zuchini pasta !) thx chef andy. Hilton dc
