I’ve done this with other kits before, and I love birthstones so I was super excited to finally buy this one. Well, I went through it, and one of the gems is missing.EDIT: I contacted the company that the listing leads you to, and not only did they send me a new kit for free, but I think they also included the gemstone I was missing from the previous kit, so that one will be a complete set! Happier than ever, I highly recommend this kit and company, they made me so happy!

The stones are small as expected and the pearl is not of good quality but that is also expected for the price. This set is best for a child about 4 or 5. At that age they just enjoy the digging and my granddaughter did!

Fun activity for kids. 9 year old enjoyed it and kept busy for about 30-40 mins. Best to do outside as it can get a bit messy with the digging. We kept a cup of water nearby to wash off the gems. Gems are very small but it was still cool to find them and compare with the booklet.

Gems are small but they are cool. They come with a keychain container to store them in. Takes time and a little difficult to do but fun. Messy but using the container it comes in to do the breaking to keep the mess in one spot and easy to throw out when done.

This is a really nice dig set! Our 8 year old wanted a diamond digger set so we purchased this one. He has had so many over the years so we needed something a little different. In the process of discovering all 12 gemstones he also learned that we have gemstones and why! They are smallish prices but most are questionable as to weather they are real stones or not. They look very clear like tinted pieces of glass or resin. The experience is what matters but my son has seen the real stones and Knowe the difference. He literally yelled at one point "Mom! I found a piece of glass!" Because he knew h d already found the diamond. I think it's absolutely nothing orth the money, though!

I ordered two of these kits, one for each of my twins. The kits provided hours of activity (they're very thorough little boys), but while one of the kits had everything as described (12 gems for 12 months), the other one was sorely lacking. It was missing the opal, which was particularly disappointing. That was the one my son was most excited about, as its their birthstone.After going through the kit in the "normal" way, we submerged all chunks in water to try to see if we couldn't dissolve the chalk from around the missing stone. Unfortunately, no luck. There was absolutely nothing more to find.ALSO to note: we got two aquamarine in that set and no blue topaz. So technically we only got 10 unique stones instead of 12.Very uneven experience!For the cost of the kit, and for who owns the company (Disney owns NG) one would expect to have all items included as promised. We also don't seem to be the only reviewers on this site missing the opal specifically!In the end, I am going to be even handed and give this set 3 stars. On the one hand, the boys did indeed get a lot of "goodie" out of it. They patiently and excitedly chipped away at it for hours and at least one of them came away with the whole and expected amount of gems. I am, however, docking two stars for the disappointment the other set brought to my other son. Quality control very lacking!

The description in the detail states “kids will be thrilled”. My grandson was thrilled and super excited when “digging” into this kit. While some of the birthstones are tiny he still enjoyed seeing how different they looked when held up to the daylight which showed more detail and also when using the magnifying glass. An added bonus for him was the display bottle. We look forward to purchasing another style.

The gems were terribly tiny, and two were missing. Not worth it.

6歳になる娘の誕生日プレゼントで購入。質はともかく本物が埋まっているということがとても嬉しかったようで、満足してます。ケースが付属してますが、こちらが少し安っぽかったのが少し残念でした。石が足りなかったというレビューがあり少し不安でしたが、問題なく12個見つかりました。どの石もある程度の大きさがありますし、ダイアモンドはケースに入った状態で埋められていたのでどの石も見落とすことはなさそうです。どの石も表層にあるので、深く掘り探すのではなく、絵柄のついた面を上にして広く浅く掘り探すのがコツでした。
