Great Deal for Quality Glasses, Fixed My Problem
I’m pretty new to this world, as I just started to notice my near vision deteriorating about a year ago. I’ve been experimenting with various readers since then, but I’m now at the point where I want to wear glasses most of the time since I’m tired of constantly having to take reading glasses on and off to be able to look at my watch or my phone or whatever. I tried a couple bifocal readers, but I was not willing to get used to looking at that line all the time I’m really impressed that I was able to find some transition lenses like this for such a good price. They’re good quality construction, really comfortable to wear for hours. They’re serving exactly the function I need, where I can now mostly see well at a distance keeping them on while still being able to see up close very comfortably. A couple warnings (which I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews): 1) there is a slight reddish tint to them that some people might not like. It doesn’t bother me at all. 2) The top of the lens isn’t just completely pass-through. There is slight magnification for that part, too. I think it would be better for me if it didn’t do that, but it’s so little that it doesn’t really mess with my distance vision too much, and sometimes it even helps me, like when I’m watching TV at a midrange distance, then it’s ever so slightly better than just watching without glasses. So for me it’s a decent tradeoff.

Great Glasses
Foster Grants are the way to go. Comfortable, durable, and magnification is correct.

Excellent product. Much better than my prescription progressives!
Great value for the money! Much better than a $350 pair of glasses from my optician. I bought these while I was waiting to see my eye doc and get new glasses made after cataract surgery. These worked really well, providing excellent clarity for reading close up, and computer work. I did notice its distance viewing was slightly less acute than the view with my newly corrected, cataract-free eyes, but not by much. When I got my new progressive prescription glasses, they were tough to wear because viewing anything away from the center was blurry and streaky. Apparently, this is because physics and optical law require the prescription to be applied to the lenses in the shape of an hour glass. I Googled it. But somehow, these Foster Grants are designed without those hourglass constraints and they work great!

Multi focus??? I don't see that at all in mine. Work as standard readers but no multi focus to me.
I have progressives and bi-focals. My prescriptions are fresh and work as advertised. I see NO multi-focus through these at all. They work as readers but that's it. Your luck may be better. With this brand name I expected better.

Love the metal frame. Foster-Grant multi-focus lens are great.
I like the Foster-Grant multi-focus lens. I have been getting their plastic frame ones in the past. They kept breaking under the lens, so I was glad to see these in metal frames. I've had them a couple of weeks now and they are just fine. With no plastic to break, I'm expecting a long life. Do you want a tip on how to clean glasses? Spray with a liquid lens cleaner, work it around with your fingertip. Hold under running warm water to rinse off, go to your towel storage, get a clean wash cloth and dry. You can put the cloth back since the lenses are clean. Never use the same cloth. It just gets greasier with use.

Nice
Hubby liked them. He can watch tv and look at his phone with out taking his readers off.

My first negative review.
I'd rarely feel compelled to write a review. I think acknowledgment of a good product or service is well worthwhile but negative reviews, I find, are often born out of personal opinion. This product is different - for me they are unusable although I decided to wear them for this review so I can explain to you the problem. As soon as they arrived I was impressed that they looked as I expected, so from that perspective I was happy. They appear well built, and not at all flimsy. Things changed immediately I put them on. At first I thought it was a bad case of dirty lenses so I inspected them and they were completely clean, as you would expect with brand new. I put them back on and it was like there were finger prints on the lenses, you know, the kind which cause that 'foggy' and "blurry" effect. So, my wife tried them and got the exactly the same. It turned out to be a severe case of eye/face reflection from the back of the lenses. Yes, the twinkle in my eye was creating a haze-like effect throughout the field of vision. It is much worse as I look down at my keyboard while typing, slightly less so as I look at the bright monitor. At longer ranges I constantly want to take them off to 'clean them". I have had several people try them and all report the same effect. I even offered them to a colleague for free who graciously declined once he had tried them. Either way, I purchased these on the basis that multi-focus lenses should theoretically negate, to some extent, the need for head-tilting or constant removal to adjust to different fields of focus. These glasses don't satisfy this and however noble the attempt to produce a more 'rounded' lens they overlooked this key element during testing. As a glasses wearer I have worn various makes, styles and lens types over the years and never have I had such a bad lens reflection as with these. I will be returning them for a refund!

Really nice readers.
I am really enjoying these. Progressive lenses at the optical store are super expensive. These are just perfect for reading in bed, working the computer screen, etc. Quality well exceeds the low price.
