⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product for Extra Hotel Room Security! I absolutely loved this safety lock! It was easy to use, worked perfectly, and gave me extra peace of mind while staying in a hotel. I felt much more secure knowing I had an additional layer of protection on the door. It’s compact, convenient to travel with, and definitely worth having for anyone who wants to feel safer while away from home. I highly recommend it and will be bringing it with me on all my future trips!

This product works. It works in most doors and gave us an added level of security while traveling. If it’s not snug- it’s not on correctly. Follow the directions. The triangle should be pointed down and it should be snug against the door. The pin on the back will slide into place to hold it against the door. The only difficult part was getting it to fit into the strike plate. Otherwise, it’s a great product. Once it’s installed, you can pull with your body weight and the door will not budge. My husband is 250# and it would not open.

It’s OK I don’t give you enough finger room to push the door so you have to be careful with your fingers other than if you can get it to slide on and hold it steady and it’ll work. It does latch on OK I don’t have anybody to come in yet to try to break in so maybe that’s a good thing but so far I’ve been using it and it’s been OK the noise of it is OK. The steadiness is somewhat OK. Installation was easy. Was enough to install the size of it is I wish it was long enough so so your fingers won’t get caught in it so I wish I had like three nines instead of two so that’s closer to the door other than that it’s OK with the six. Just need to be longer.

I debated whether I should give this 1 star since the idea/concept is great but after the scary experience I had I think it’s important that this review gets proper attention and am considering contacting the company as well. I am currently on vacation with my children and brought this with me to use. I tested it at home and it worked fine so I felt safe using it on vacation. I put this on my door before going to bed with my 2 small children and felt safe. At about 1am the fire alarm at the resort we are staying at went off and when I woke up to see what was going on, I found that I was trapped inside of my room. I tried and tried to open the door to remove the device and the door would not open. Luckily we are on the ground floor and have a balcony so I was able to exit the room easily through there and quickly learned that it was a false alarm due to someone smoking in their room, but the initial panic I felt almost gave me a heart attack. I then started thinking how dangerous this could have been if I was staying at a high rise hotel building with no other way out and a real fire. My children and I would have been trapped in that room because of this device. It’s unsafe and honestly shouldn’t even be on the market because I’ve seen 2 other reviews where the same has happened to others. I feel bad writing a negative review because I know this was created with the best intentions, but this could really end up hurting someone in the event of a fire and the door gets stuck like mine did. Please be very careful when using this. Yea

Well, this lock does what it says it does. The reason for the lower stars is because I used this on an actual hotel door and it got stuck. We couldn’t use the door to leave or come back in. Thankfully we were on the floor level and was able to leave through the slider. I didn’t know that a quarter turn handle wouldn’t clear the plate and it got stuck. The hotel had to send maintenance to come grind out the mortise lock mechanism. So please be aware, this is not intended for some hotel doors. This $12 lock can cost you over $1,000 in hotel fees.

I wish I bought this sooner. I have stayed at several AirBnBs, hotels, and motels where I have put a chair under the doorknob, stacked suitcases in front of the door, or hung my keys off the doorknob so they would jingle if someone turned the handle. Last week, I stayed at a sketchy hotel near Detroit and I used a luggage cart and a Costco collapsible shopping crate to rig a makeshift door stop/noisemaker. I wish I had this instead. As far as ways to spend $15, this is a pretty good one, right up there with the Lily brush (silicone pet hair remover used to clean carpets). If you don't have this, you should. I'm thinking of buying one for all the girls in my life, like my mom, my friends, etc. My mom travels frequently and I would feel better knowing she had this in her purse or car. I might buy a second one to keep in my car in case I ever need to stay the night somewhere on short notice. This is so compact and at first glance, it actually looks like a bottle opener, you probably would not know what this is unless you have seen it before. It even comes in a little opaque black bag with tie strands to cinch it closed, so you could just throw this in your glove box and not worry about it rattling around. The bag has no labels and you cannot see through it, so it could be anything. I think this probably would fit in a man's pocket. For reference, this video is of the metal exterior door that separates my garage from my kitchen, it is a thick door with a locking door knob but no deadbolt. I also tried this on a few different doors in my house and it works for hollow, wood veneer interior doors, as long as whoever cut the hole in the door jamb didn't make it circular.

I’m sure this would be great, but it’s not unable on most German doors, since they usually have a ridge on the inside of the doorframe.

Good customer service (note and gift included). If the door frame is too thick it will be difficult to latch the locking part. You might need to bend the lock a little to latch it, but works fine. The lock only works for doors opening inward. Great for ladies traveling.
