Great Little Light
I bought this flashlight seven months ago, and have not changed batteries yet despite using the light daily. All three light modes work just fine. I generally use it as a twisty, and can turn it on and off with one hand. I love the size of the light, and the fact that it uses AA batteries. The low mode is fine for most uses, but if more light is needed, the medium usually does the trick. And it's comforting to know that the high mode is there for those times I want or need to light up an area the size of my backyard--because it will do it. I removed the clip, and attached the lanyard. I can either drop it in a pocket or attach the light to my belt or belt loop. While returning from the bathroom in the middle of the night I place my thumb over the lens, and twist it on. The resultant reddish light is more than enough to find my bed without waking or bothering my wife or affecting my night vision. It's a versatile, powerful, and pocket friendly flashlight that is economical to use thanks to long battery life.

Love this light
And other small Fenix models. This one is big for a keychain, but fine for a pocket. The high output allows me to instantly see into areas that my worsening vision just can't penetrate. I have two so I'm never without. Battery life is ok -- depends how much you use it. I will include a couple of spares in my EDC. Agree that the new model, a little shorter, is a little more awkward to grip, but it's not bad, since I have skinny hands.

A reasonable continuation of the E12 product line
I have 2 of the first-gen E12's, and they are GREAT! I decided to pick up one of the newer ones to add to the rotation. My conclusion: It is a good continuation of the original, but the lowest brightness setting is weaker than I would like, and is harder to hold. I have not yet killed the first battery, so I can't comment on runtime. PROs: Added a pocket clip, which also gives anti-roll ability (Shorter than the original by ~0.5"--you decide if pro/con) Brightest setting is 160 Lm, vs. 130 Lm for the original Medium power is 50 Lm vs. 30 Lm for original, I spend most time using this power level CONs: Shorter than the original by ~0.5", makes a bit harder to hold for me Lowest power is 5 Lm vs. 8 Lm for original, 8 Lm "feels" better to me

Perfect pocket flashlight.
Have carried one of these in my pocket for years. Only needed to replace my old one because an alkaline battery leaked inside it and ruined it. I now use rechargeable Nimh batteries which don't leak and are approved by Fenix for this flashlight. I love the range of power levels for just every day use. It's small size is such that I don't even notice it in my pocket.

Takes regular battery. Thank goodness. Not rechargeable. Great operation and functions.
Excellent flashlight. Much improved over prior versions. Easier to turn on and off with either twist or button. Magnetic hanging ability is nice touch. Great that this manufacturer still makes a model that takes regular batteries. I take this hiking in my pack. I'm not interested in any of the rechargeable flashlights they make. Give me ability to swap batteries anytime.

Failing USB-c port
Every light I bought from them has had issues with USB-C port. Don’t buy them until they fix this

Really disappointed in this one...
I generally buy Olight or Streamlight flashlights, since both brands strike a good balance between value and performance. Decided to try this Fenix flashlight after reading and watching good reviews, and to give another company in the same "bang-for-buck" category a try. This light is designed well, is small for its battery type, uses common AA batteries, and is lightweight. Where it fails is in its emitter. Low and medium settings are a sickly, pale-yellow greenish light that to me is worst than most cellphone flashlights. High setting is really the only place where I consider the light usable. In fact, if it clicked right into High when turned on, I'd likely be more happy with it, but as it stands with having to click though Low and Medium to reach High, I'm disappointed every time with the light. I have cheap flashlights that have far better emitters in terms of light color temperature and quality. I should probably return this light as I find it useless for EDC, but it'll end up in a drawer unused most likely since returns are a hassle. A real shame and I still seek a good AA EDC flashlight. I'd avoid this flashlight and don't recommend it at all. The light quality is what really counts, and this one doesn't cut it in that respect. A real shame as I'm now hesitant to ever recommend a Fenix light again, but this one spoiled it.

This little fenix is tops.
Best flash light ever! It is just like the previous version that I regretfully lost. This light can stand on end and light the whole room. It has 3 different brightness settings all you do is half tap the button. Best part is, it runs on rechargeable aa batteries. I posted a few pics of my shed on low, med, and high. It also fits nice in your palm. The low is perfect for getting up out of bed and not blinding yourself. Med is nice all around. The bright is very bright I can see across my yard and would be to bright digging in a bag.
