Lisle 63600 Car Oil Filter Wrench for 2-1/2" to 3-1/8" Filters

It's a surprisingly heavy filter wrench but works well. It fits most of the smaller size oil filters and slides on from the bottom where there's less likely to be interference using a ratchet to get a grip and twist the old filter off. It also replaces 4-5 of the simple cup-type filter wrenches for roughly the price of two, so takes up less space. I look forward to using this tool for many years and throwing my other wrenches out.

Works great. Fits in most spaces that a standard filter socket would fit with much better grip. I haven’t had a filter it wouldn’t remove.

Functions perfectly but I with the spring was secured on there better.

Though I still use a strap wrench for tight spaces, this filter wrench makes a big difference in most oil changes. It grips tightly and I haven't yet found a filter it doesn't fit. The only issue I have found is that the spring popped loose during one oil change, but it was easy to put back into place.

If you have smaller oil filters this thing works great , look at the size it expands to and make sure it fits your application... For Polaris or riding mowers etc even cars and light trucks this thing is perfect... I have always liked Lisle brand tools especially for small engine repair , if you break this your trying to break it... I ordered another one as a spare because it works so good... If you change oil a lot you already know about filter wrenches , they either work or they go in the garbage can... Another thing I like is in tight spaces you can slide the wrench on the filter then install a 3/8 ratchet to remove... Another great product from lisle

It will work well but it will slip off of filters once in a while as it doesn't connect to the filter at the top where the spring is. Very easy to use. It fits on filters well despite the springs. If it does slip it's only because the guy before you put the filter on way too tight. I prefer the claw style for the work I do but this version works great also. It's a well built tool and will not bend as it has good thickness. Made in USA if I'm not mistaken. Great value in my opinion. Destroys Subaru filters which isn't a big deal as I am putting a new filter on anyways.

Can be tricky in tighter spaces and doesnt stay snug on ratchet, but it will work if you use it patiently and with care.

Triumph filter levered on by dealers made an oil change an absolute hassle with oem cap slipping off filter. This sorted it no problem.
