Great for some purposes! Bad for others.
This is a great product if you have a need/desire to keep your ears open while listening to something. To be clear, this will not replace your headphones or earbuds. The sound quality is lacking and it can't get super loud. Perhaps more expensive versions would do this better but I suspect it's a limitation of bone conduction rather than an issue with this specific product. I had never used bone conduction before but it does work! It sits on my head pretty well and I can keep my ears open while listening. I use this as part of my church's music team. It allows me to keep the right timing with everyone else while keeping my ears open to hear the congregation which I really like. Other uses would be a parent that wants to hear a baby cry, a driver that wants to be aware of surroundings, someone who has trouble with traditional earbuds, etc. if you have a need to keep your ears open while listening, this is a really neat product that does work! If you're trying to replace more traditional earbuds/headphones just because of the novelty, you will be disappointed. As stated before, the volume is low so you will need to turn your device up. Also, it is somewhat sensitive to the positioning of the headphones. Place it wrong and it might be too quiet or you might not hear anything at all. It's not hard to get the hang of but you might need to fiddle with it for a minute or two when you first get it.

Not worth the money... may be ok for children.
If I could half the one, I would. You have to turn the volume to max on your device in order to hear and feel the headphone compared to wireless bone conduction sets. I actually had to place the speakers just on top of my inner ear. It would help if the headset had volume controls and not feel like children's headphones with low max volumes.

extremely quiet but works with my computer
My old over-ear headphones completely cover my ears, hurt after several hours and get ear wax build up (after days of passing the time recovering from corrective surgery). I needed open ear to let my ears breath. Bone conduction sounds perfect (unintentional pun). And, these were the least expensive of the very limited (corded, bone conduction 3.5mm headphone/earphone) choices. But, they are not supposed to work with computers, because of the microphone? I do not need the microphone.. I hoped and waited for them to arrive. Plugged them in.. no sound. Wait a minute! Turn the volume ALL THE WAY UP! Ah, conversational volume. LOL Good enough? Maybe.. For the price? Got to love it! Remember, the round part goes on your cheek bones directly in front of your ears, not on your ears. They do squeeze a little but that is necessary, to push against the bone for bone conduction. And, they are simple (durability and inexpensive.)

Not for loud environments
Well I figured I'd give them a shot but they don't work for loud environments. I was looking for a set of plug in bone conduction headsets to use while riding my motorcycle. Manufacturers of motorcycle intercom systems haven't come into the 21st century and they don't build a system that will connect to bluetooth headsets, or I'd connect to my Shokz. I've been using plug in earbuds with big expanding foam tips to block the engine noise, but have been hoping to find decent sound with bone conduction. These are not the answer for that. The sound was fine in normal environments, but once on the bike, on full volume, I couldn't hear a thing at idle without other ear plugs in. Once I put some regular foam ear plugs in, I could hear the sound on full volume, but could barely understand lyrics or speaking and the music was just not even worth listening to. My hopes were probably too high, again, the sound was fine in a normal environment, but I'm back to earbuds.

Work well if you use them correctly.
So I was a little conflicted based on the reviews but ended up ordering these and they work really well for my use case! There's a few caveats though I think trip a lot of people up judging based on the other reviews. First, these require a certain amount of output power from whatever they are connected to in order to work and they are not amplified internally (not getting into technical details here just at a high level). Some devices I have can drive them adequately including my cellphone but others can't including an old MP3 player I happened to try. On the devices that do work I find I have to turn the volume up higher than usual to get clear audio. Second, you need to place them in a certain location on the side of your head to really get the full effect. If they are slightly off they will work but the sound will be very muffled or low volume. If they are way off they don't work at all for me. Luckily the headband places them in about the perfect place on my head but sometimes when I wear a hat over them I need to move them around a bit to get them to sit correctly. Third, even when they work perfectly they are not going to sound great. The point of these is that they are wired, so you're not dependent on bluetooth working correctly in your environment, and they don't need their own power, so you don't have to charge them. If these are not things you want they you'd likely be much better off with a pair of bluetooth bone conduction headphones. Personally these work really well for my use case and I'm going to buy another pair to keep as a spare in case the first ever breaks. I never use the microphone on them so I can't comment on how well that works.

Poor quality
The headset is not adjustable. If your head doesn't fit the specific size and shape that they pre sized it to, this will be extremely uncomfortable to wear. The sound quality is terrible. The speakers buzz loudly at volumes higher than a whisper, and what audio does play is extremely compressed. In my example, only the left speaker plays sound.

Do as promised, but sound quality is poor.
These bone conduction headphones allow some sound to come through, when worn properly. But the sound quality is compromised compared to using ear buds or earphones. However, they never promised great sound quality, just the ability to hear other sounds outside of these headphones.

play around with the settings
I don't know if this useful for anyone else, but using this with LG G8X phone. There are two default sound apps on the phone that help with the sound volume and quality. DTS:X 3D Surround set to Wide for music and Front for listening to podcasts. Hi-Fi Quad Dac Equalizer set to Treble Booster and Digital Filter set to Short has the best sound quality for listening to music or podcasts equally. I have the volume at 60 to 75/100 and everything comes out clearly.
