Happy, Happy! Cut my own hair and it turned out well!
Second time cutting my own hair because of quarantine. First time was a disaster with scissors and a gadget comb that I got on amazon. Very weird look with hair sticking out oddly! Finally got my new Wahl clippers today. This Clipquik attachment worked really well. Of course, it's not as good as my hairdresser, but good enough to not look weird. I got the new clippers and attached this thing and just buzzed away. Cut blindly in the back. It's two inches all over my head and looks decent, even the back. My hair's kind of fine, so it took a long time. I just kept going over it until no more hair could be cut. I cut my hair dry, and waited a few days after washing it so it wouldn't be so difficult to stay in the clipper guide comb. I found that on my first attempt with squeaky clean wet hair then clean dry hair. I want to cut the very bottom of the back shorter and finally found a #12 attachment that will arrive in late June. I ordered a #10 by miaco today, so may try that sooner, just cut the very bottom of the back a little shorter. The #8 that came with the clippers is probably too short. I wish they made a #14, but I couldn't find one. I'd like to taper it without lines using the #14 which doesn't exist. This #16 is a real blessing, though. Plus on Zoom, no one sees the back of my head anyway. I'm good to go for a number of haircuts and these things will pay for themselves quickly. I'm going to spring for a cape, which will make things a bit neater!

The Perfect 2" Guide Plus What To Order Here On Amazon to Be Your Own Hairdresser
This is a one of a kind item. It is the only 2" clipper guide in existence and it fits the Wahl Clippers sold here perfectly. I clings to the clipper very firmly. I find it excellent but have clipper cut my own hair for four and a half years and have experience doing it. I have fine soft hair and wash my hair the day before cutting it, and rub in Tresemme Tres Gel (5* hold) before it dries. It does not make the hair stiff if used as directed but gives body. (Yes,I get it from Amazon ). You will discover that the longer the hair length the guide is designed to cut the more laborious it is to cut. This requires positioning the hair with a comb and making multiple passes from different angles to do an effective job on the crown of your head. Use this #16 for the crown. Then as you approach the rim of your head I recommend blending with a 11/2" (#12 ) Guide, and as you work down further using the 11/4" guide (#10) and use the 1" (#8 guide) for the nape. You blend the hair lengths by sweeping the clipper upwards between length zones to achieve a taper. Once you work on the rim and nape because the guides are shorter and the hair grows downwards, it goes faster! Be patient and spend time and where you finish you'll see it went faster than a visit to the hairdresser's! Now....how do you learn, and see how to do this? You first order the "Wahl Home Haircutting Made Simple" book with included DVD. This will teach you terms like "crown","rim",and "nape". It is right here on Amazon at a reasonable price. View it and read the book and see how easy and frugal this is. ( It must be good....the man cutting his OWN hair gave me courage to try this myself and I saw how easy it was to blend lengths!) Once you've done that come back to Amazon and buy their basic Wahl clipper which includes an apron, comb and scissors plus an array of cutting guides from 1/8" to and including 1" (#8). (It only costs $20!). Add to it this 2" #16 guide and a 11/2"(#12) and 11/4" (#10). (I believe there is an offer of #10 and #12 together.) This all, book and DVD as well, will cost less than $75 including shipping and tax. (If you have a time finding any items right on Amazon, go off the site and Google it and pick out the Amazon offer. ) $75 is about the price of three haircuts with the tip, but it will last for many years and you can tip yourself on the fourth haircut! I have saved a lot of money over 41/2 years and you will, too!๐ Sorry this was so long, but I want a great product to sell and see people succeed with this so I had to be complete in my description. Amazon knows I always write back to people with questions, so feel free to ask "Steph" a question. The customer base here has taught me so much, and I want to return the favor. Be well!

READ THIS - so you don't break it within 30 seconds
The clipper guard arrived today. I read other reviews ahead of time warning about the fragile nature of the clipper โteethโ and the possibility of the tab breaking off due to 1. to tight of a fit and 2. less flexible plastic material clipper guard is made from. There is nothing you can do about the plastic material content. But you can do something about the tight fit by filing down the capture ridge of the tab that holds the clipper guard on the cutter blade. A finger nail file or sand paper file that women use on their finger nails might work because you donโt need to remove a lot of materialโฆI would estimate between 1/32 to 1/64 of an inch. I used a conventional metal file used for filing metal. It is thicker and cuts more quickly and it also filed some other parts (due to itโs thickness) that I wanted to leave alone. You can see the tracks of the file on the other parts of the Clipper Guide in the picture. See picture for the โcapture ridgeโ to identify what needs to be filed. It is a โbumpโ or โridgeโ on the inside of the โtabโ. The tab is the hooked piece of plastic that snaps in on the back of the blade and the capture ridge is on the inside of that tab. Make sure you understand how this piece fits on the clippers. Put it into position without applying any force and closely examine what needs to be filed down. Make sure the front of clipper blade is pushed all the way in to the plastic 2โ Clipper Guide and then lower the rear of the clipper guide into position to be clicked into place. With enough pressure it will click in but will it also break? I did not want to find out. It was very tight and felt like it might break if I forced it any harder. With the pre-existing knowledge that other people had broken their tab off I was extra cautious and decided to file it down a little before trying. After filing it down, it clicked in without flexing too much. Treat it gently and it might last a long time. Iโll add to the review once I use it to cut my hair. I will also follow up the review if this piece breaks. It is flimsy so it must be treated carefully. I gave it 4 because I have not even used it yet. I think it is way overpriced for a simple injection molded piece of plastic but there are no competitors so the high price stays high. The build could be much better with a higher quality plastic (with nylon) and a better fit from the factory. At this price there is no excuse for a poor fit. It's probably easier and cheaper for the manufacturer to replace broken pieces than to change their molds to better fit a Wahl product.

Great product for a quick and easy pixie cut!
I was looking for an easy way to get a pixie cut at home. This was my first time ever cutting my hair this short, but I don't really have a lot of options because of the coronavirus to go out and get my hair cut. I didn't exactly want a buzz cut, but I don't trust myself with scissors. This guard was the perfect length for me and what kind of pixie I wanted! It cut my hair well, attached nicely to my Wahl clippers, and got the job done. My only worry when purchasing this product was what my hair was going to look like - there are not a lot of resources online of what the 2 inch guard looks like as a haircut - I only found one youtube video, and it was a guy (still helpful, though!). I wanted to write a review to show others what the 2 inch guard can do and how it can give a great short pixie cut.

I wanted it to work, but... it didnโt
I was hopeful in buying this because I wanted it to work, but it really didnโt. I tried using this guard on the longer part of my hair to trim it down. It was too difficult to get an even cut in the more difficult spots, like the crown of my head. The quality is so-so - I was surprised by how flimsy it seemed and how thin the plastic was that I could easily move the tines on the guard. I wonder if this is perhaps why it was more difficult for me to get an even cut. It did seem to come earlier than the projected date on the order page, though, which was a nice surprise!

I highly recommend this guide
This guide works very well for me and fits my Wahl perfectly. I use this guide along with a comb to assist in cutting my hair, something I've been doing for years, and find that this combination gives a very nice cut. When I use guides 1 through 8, I don't need to use a comb with the clippers, but for the 1 1/4, 1 1/2, and 2'' guides a comb helps in raising the hair to the clippers. I'm very satisfied with this product and recommend it highly. As mentioned, there is a different method using this guide as compared to say a #5 or a #8, but a nice cut is achieved nonetheless, something that was verified to me when a coworker asked where I got my hair cut because it always looked so nice. I generally cut my hair every week or two because I can and truly appreciate having electric clippers and the range of guides to choose from.

Finally the search is over
I was looking for something like this for months. I was so excited to finally find this attachment. I was concerned it wouldn't work as well as I envisioned; however, when I tried it out, it was clear that it was just what I wanted. It works great. I use it with my Wahl clipper set. It clips securely so there is no worry that it will fall off during use. I actually think it clips more securely than the Wahl attachments that came with the set. It is great to do and maintain a pixie cut. Love that I can take care of my own hair with confidence. I received a lot of compliments on my hair. People could not believe I did my own hair.

Cheap, broke, and didn't fit my Wahl
DO NOT BUY FOR AT HOME HAIRCUT! For a $10 blade and $4 shipping this is a piece of flimsy poop. It does NOT fit on a Wahl, and the rear clip that snugly secures the comb attachment on the rear of the trimmer head just broke away. I believe that the plastic is so cheap that it just fell off. I was going to fix it with some super glue but when I was looking at the comb minus the rear clip, there was no way the trimmer was going to fit. I have a plain old Wahl set that was purchased for about $30-35, nothing special. The trimmer head has a lever that extends and retracts, I had it on the retracted or shortest of the two. DO NOT BUY. I just wanted to trim the kids hair. The shipping was fast. But everything is fast when things are not properly. Take some more time unlike me just searching Amazon to help with my haircut conundrum you'll get a better product and a lower price.

Does what it should, not terribly sturdy
Cuts hair as it should, but is quite bendy and does not feel strong. Whenever using it I worry it will bend and I will find myself with a shaved stripe across my head.
