Great little vice if you make jewelry.
I've needed one of these for a long time and didn't think I would find one for such a low price. This is heavy and well made and attaches firmly to my work table. It's easy to adjust and has several ways to adjust it. And the grips have rubber on them so it's easy for it to clamp onto pretty much anything. I've used it with watch movements I'm filing down, because they get too hot to hold, and it's great -- it's so much easier to do the things I was trying to do by holding items. I've also used it as a clamp for gluing pieces together. I've even used it to press pieces together that fit but are too tight to press together with my hands, which have gotten progressively weaker after more than 10 year so making jewelry.I've been using this for more than nine months and it's been one of the most useful things I've purchased for my studio. Definitely recommend it.

It is a quality and useful vic.
I am extremely impressed with the quality, versatility and performance of this product. This is a vice that has worked for my husband in is shop and for myself to use with delicate dremel and conch shell art work. I am going to purchase 1 for myself ( it's so good we actually both have uses at the same time!) and several others to give as happy day gifts.

Works Just Fine
I bought this to use as a table clamp for an embroidery hoop (more on that below.) First, let me say that the vise itself works exactly as described. It does seem a bit light for its size due to the aluminum construction, but for my needs that worked to my advantage. I only mention this because if you are planning to use it for holding heavy objects you might not like it as much. The jaws open just fine, and the head with the jaws rotates perfectly on the ball joint. For the reviewers that said theirs would not rotate I would say check the little bar that is used to loosen and tighten the ball. Mine was tightened all the way down, I'm sure for shipping to keep it from flopping around. It worked fine once loosened. I just put it in the position that I wanted and then tightened it back. The rubber jaws were nice and the rubber was thick. If you are thinking of getting this to use as a clamp for embroidery, it's not the best option. That is NOT because the vise doesn't work as described, it is because of the way it is constructed. The clamp is meant to hold objects more upright, as opposed to sideways as you would need for an embroidery hoop. That being said, I got it positioned in a way that does work, but is not optimal. So, I've ordered a clamp on a stalk for my Elbesee table clamp and when it comes I will donate this to hubby's tool stash.Bottom line, vise works EXACTLY as described. For the price, the quality was also fine. Does exactly what it was designed to do, and can be forced to do at least one thing it WASN'T designed to do!!!

Very nice light weight hobby vice
This is not a heavy duty machinist vice, so don't expect it to do the job when a lot of torque or heavy pounding is required. It's a great hobby vice for medium and light duty jobs. Adjustments work smoothly, locks up tight, and has nicely padded jaws (rubber pads removable). The swivel feature is very handy at times.

Great small light weight compact vice for light duty work
First off, don't be confused. This is a light weight vice. It's not for heavy work. It's more for "desktop" use than garage use. I use it on an electronics bench to hold things like project boxes while I drill / customize them. I see reviews complaining that it broke. Lets be clear, this is NOT an industrial vice. It's for light weight usage.

Best quality for the money
I bought this for jewelry making after having a lot of misery with plastic ones! Love this vise! It is metal, strong and secures to my table without moving around. The swivel head is perfect for multiple positions. I love the rubber jaw covers so it doesn’t damage my work but holds it securely. I bought another and gave it to a family member.

Vice froze in 45 degree position after 2nd use, poor quality.
Do not buy this vice! Initially when I received it , it would not rotate from the vertical position per it's features it should rotate to 45 degree. I added some lubricant to the metal ball fulcrum of the vice and managed to get it to rotate freely. I should have sent it back to Amazon . At this point after a month down the road the first time I used it at a 45 degree position it locked and would not move . This is a poor quality vice in my opinion, don't be fooled by the posted good reviews.
