Smart Solar 21372R01 Ceramic Solar Koi Fountain, e Glazed Finish, Powered by an Included Solar Panel that Operates an Integral Low Voltage Pump With Filter

The day I took this video, we couldn't stop watching our koi fountain with floating mum. The solar panel is taped to the side rail of our deck receiving maximum sun. Notice how the fountain peters out at the end due to the panel not getting full sun (too bad the lawnmower and insect chorus drowned out the tranquil water sounds).We ordered two of these beautiful cobalt blue fountains, and the first arrived with minor blemishes (pockmarks) in the bowl--not worth returning. The second one arrived in perfect condition. We have had the first fountain almost a year now, and it works perfectly as described--with the panel in DIRECT sunlight. Direct sunlight means that nothing can be shading more than a tiny section of the solar panel, and with lower sun angles the solar panel needs to be angled toward the sun. So it's up to you to determine the best place to either permanently place the panel for maximum fountain hours, or to reposition it with the moving sun (earth).We get 4.5 hours of fountain on a sunny day during the summer (the first .5 hour of that is more of a gurgle before it gets to full-stream). On hazy days, we get less than a full stream to nothing at all. If a tiny portion of the panel is shaded by a blowing tree, it goes down to a gurgle. It's beautiful with the fountain going, and it's still pretty as just a birdbath. Many reviewers describe it as small, but we bought ours to double as a bird bath. It's almost as big as a typical-sized birdbath, and if you fill it to the brim (which you should if you have the fountain running for several hours/day under the sun), it's actually too deep for smaller birds. Our birds usually use it when we're not watching, as they can see us (and the kitty) through the window. We also caught a squirrel taking a sip.In the fall and winter, we ran it inside the house for about 1 hour/day so our part-Coonie kitty could play in the fountain and dunk his toys.

Very very pretty, just like on the pictures. Easy to put together, looks lovely on the deck besides a plant. Little expensive, but very unique. Mine had a chip on the fish part when I received it, but customer service was really helpful. The sound is gentle, but again, it is just so pretty! And actually a good size.

The fountain arrived well packaged. It was easy to put together. I purchased a 28" stand so it is high enough to see from the windows in the front courtyard. IT is described as a tabletop fountain and that is what it is unless you purchase a stand to elevate the fountain. I love the deep cobalt blue color.- the color is evenly distributed. There are embossed leaf patterns on the edge. The koi fish is really cute and has a nice sweet face. Once water is added; I then placed the LED nearby (the cord is very long) and the next morning, the fountain was bubbling away. The fountain has a nice substantial flow-- make sure the water basin stays filled and is up past the pump-- it has a nice sound. I am really pleased with the purchase and am thoroughly enjoying it. Today a hummingbird was washing its self! You will be very happy , good quality.

it looks exactly like the photo, easy to set up. I put river rocks in the dish for a slightly more natural look, I thought it might make a splashier sound but it doesn't change the sound at all. Here's the deal. This needs direct sun to work. I live in California and i put the fountain under a trellis in amongst seating and plants on an outdoor rug, it's charming. I ran the cord up the back of supporting post of the trellis and the solar panel is on the top, completely unobstructed and unshaded. If there is sun, it sees it. This time of year it gets dark around 8:45 or 9:00 pm. The fountain will stop running at around 4:15. I guess the sun is starting to slant downward in the sky? I wasn't surprised when it stopped when a cloud passed, but I was surprised at the afternoon sun effect. I think because i'd love for it to be working when people come over for a pre-dinner glass of wine in the backyard in my little outdoor room with rug/furniture/plants/fountain. I have tried to angle it toward the afternoon sun position to no effect yet, but will keep trying.in summary, I love this fountain, it is a subltle water sound, a nice looking piece, easy to find room for, easy to set up, not expensive. I wish it ran a little later. It might inspire me to look for an electric small table fountain, even with the necessity of an electrician etc.
