The Message from the Horse

This book, and the author are incredible. I think the way he trains and interacts with horses in the most humane, and the kindest way I have ever seen, or encountered. I feel no one compares to him. He works with some pretty difficult horses. Anyone who is wanting to learn various methods of training horses won't be disappointed. He works in a spiritual way. I would give this man and his book a 10 if I could. Check him out on you tube. Thanks Amazon for carrying his books.

Repeatedly, I found moments that flooded my heart mind body and soul with memories and wonder, inspiration and aspirations for rediscovering the type of relationships I found with horses so many years ago as a young girl. Even a recently as a year ago, a horse many called "Hostile", is now praise him for his gentleness. God blessed us to have allowed us to find such a wonderful teacher. I cherish this book and will pass it on to many!

For me, the book ended but I didn't find the message from the horse. There were several very nice thoughts but not the revealing equine message that I expected. I found the book started well but somewhere between meeting the monk and Paloma, the story got all jumbled up and was hard to follow, with very minimal focus on horses. The last 20 pages saved the book for me, as Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling revealed a few extraordinary thoughts about horses, which continue to affect me, long after I put the book down.

Not very useful to me. He keeps saying it is who you are that determines the way horses relate to you, not so much what you do technically. I have observed this with other trainers and riders, and when it works it is like magic, a much more holistic and intuitive process. It probably can't be taught, directly at least. The photos are lovely, and his videos on you tube are impressive, but I surely can't figure out how to apply much of it.

Full of gems, deep insights. Very honest. Not, however, much insight to his true journey of self-discovery, but a great story well told nonetheless. I would like to read the sequel! (If there was one.)

This book is a beautiful description of the spiritual transformation that can be facilitated by relationship with horses. It's not a "how to work with horses" book, or a horse training book - it's about what WE learn from THEM if we're willing to listen and dive deep into the process.

I feel the book was misrepresented. I thought i would learn about horses, but I am not into "holistic horse training". With all the videos I have seen and the books I have read, this book was an abject disappointment. The monk focus was out of focus with training horses. My mistake was not being able to unfold the moralistic code. It was money not well wasted.

So much of what I believed to be true was verified in this amazing book. If you are ready to explore the deep spiritual essence of both you and your horse this book is a beacon on your internal journey.

I give 5 stars to all the other books of Klaus, especiall "What Horses Reveal". He has an amazing insight into horses and life. With his book The Message from the Horse he takes us through his emotional journey - a spiritual journey. There are very nice paragraphs but most of it, when he describes his time he spent with the "old man", is slow going and I found myself to start skipping paragraphs and pages to try to get to interesting bits about horses. However, this book is not really about horses, but rather about his spiritual journey in his life which I did not realise when I ordered the book. He has written so many good books about horses and communication with them that one automatically expects something similar.

I love this book, sad it has finished, will read it over to learn the lessons that it has to offer in more detail, much thanks and gratitude to Value, the old monk and of course Klaus for this amazing book x

very interesting book

Hempflings autobiografie reads like a good novel. You get a good inside of the long path he has taken to gain all the knowledge about himself and the communication with horses. The book reveals a good deal of private information about Hempfling that shows how he has grown from thruth seeking youngster towards the wise man he has become. I am very gratefull that he has shared this knowledge with us.
