A-Premium Hood Bonnet Lift Supports Shock Struts Replacement for Lexus LS430 2001-2006 2-PC Set

Since I already had the old lifts out (in about 4-5 mins aside, may take a bit of elbow grease to pry them out) these took only a few seconds to pop in (once I removed the 4 attached bolts & pivots on the arriving parts, since I already had my old bolts & pivots in place, as you likely will too. You can remove these on the new units by prying up on the same band above the pivots you need pry up on the old ones to get them out & the bolts will gravity fall right out- then you might want to transfer some grease to your old pivots). Once so easily installed, the hood latch is pulled, and you give the slightest encouragement, the hood now lifts well entirely on its own, and is easy to close when you need to. Every bit as stout & effective as the OEM. Not bad, $25, for what's supposed to be (based on 2 estimates I saw) a $400-$460 repair!

Product is good. However, it was unclear if it came with the ball studs until I received the package. They are shown in the first photo but not listed in the description at all. They come pre-attached to the strut supports. I will say, for the Lexus LS430, it will be much much easier if you remove the ball studs first and install them to the car, then attach the strut supports. They should ship them separated for ease of installation.

I just purchased this used 2002 Lexus LS 430 and the original lift supports were shot, leaving me to have to use a 2x4 to keep it open. The hood is extremely heavy, and these supports do their job exceedingly well. They are just barely longer than the originals, so I had to push the hood up as far as it could go to line up the bolts, but it was a successful install. Took me about 35 minutes to do it alone (would’ve gone faster with more hands). I’m fixing up what I can to save money, and I’m sure these just saved me a couple hundred bucks to take it somewhere and have it done.
