My First Hands-On Bible is the preschooler version of the popular Hands-On Bible , which has sold nearly one million copies. Jesus taught with hands-on lessons and illustrations; My First Hands-On Bible uses the same experience-based learning to communicate God’s Word in an active, understandable way. My First Hands-On Bible is a fun and simple, yet meaningful way to engage preschool, prekindergarten, and kindergarten children (ages 3–6) with the Bible while helping them build a solid faith foundation. Each lesson focuses on a specific Bible point through a variety of activities in order to reinforce and help young children remember the stories and lessons. Using common household items, you can help your children have a “hands-on” learning experience while engaging them in 85 key stories from the Bible. My First Hands-On Bible doesn’t just retell the Bible stories; it also includes actual Scripture from the easy-to-understand and easy-to-read Holy Bible , New Living Translation. In addition to the stories and activities, there are fun illustrations, prayers, and a special Jesus Connection feature. Review: GREAT Bible for 4-5 yr olds!! - My 4 year old LOVES this Bible. We are kids Bible junkies hahaha; I'm always trying to find the best one for my child's developmental stage so they aren't bored or overwhelmed with our reading times. We have 10 other kids Bibles, and this one is the first one she begs/reminds us to read to her every day! That's a major WIN! :-) She LOVES the "handprints" that are connected to something active that the child gets to do in the middle of story (like "walk across the room and bask to pretend you're walking on water"). These handprints really help her engage with the story and make it fun. And they often think of ideas that I would not think of! I also really appreciate that this Bible goes verse by verse through the Bible stories; most Bibles for younger children just paraphrase and many don't even give a reference! I appreciate that they are getting the children used to the idea of reading the Bible verse by verse. I also like the "Let's Talk" section because it has great question suggestions that I wouldn't always thing of asking; I also appreciate the craft ideas and other "through the week" ideas they give for bringing the themes from the story into everyday life. We aren't crazy about the "Jesus connection" section--some of these are spot on, but many are more moralistic or just plain random! (Example:For the story about Jesus as a boy in the temple, the Jesus connection says "We can ask people questions about God and Jesus".??? What is that? Why not talk about Jesus knowing God is His Father and that means He is the Son of God?!). However, this section isn't a huge deal to me overall since we have the Jesus Storybook Bible; it is fairly easy for me to create my own "Jesus Connection" words if the ones in this Bible seem too moralistic or too random. Overall: this is a GREAT Bible for active 4-5 yr olds who really have a hard time sitting still through devotional time. This Bible does the work of engaging them at their level, as well as giving great activity ideas for parents/caregivers. If you want your child to remind YOU to read the Bible to them, get this one!! :-) Review: Perfect Bible for Toddlers - This Bible is the cutest! I love how each story is written like a devotional with an action afterwards- jump like a kangaroo, or go do this. It helps toddlers engage with the material in a real and practical way. The stories are well written; the questions are easy enough to answer, which helps develop recall knowledge. And each page is full of bright colorful pictures. This helps bring the stories to life. We read this as a family, and it's a perfect way to end our day together. I wish I had gotten this earlier.

Must buy for faith based home with littles
I purchased this Bible in 2022, and it’s perfect for children ages 3–8. My preschoolers and second grader love how engaging it is. We own several children’s Bibles, and this one is our favorite because it includes games and activities that really bring the Bible stories to life. I just wish it were available in Spanish. It’s written in English using the NLT translation.

Amazing, Because It Is the Bible
I wasn't quite aware that it was happening, but in the past year or so I've collected several little kid Bibles. A few from book reviews, and one or two as gifts to my girls. This one is by far my favorite. The biggest difference between this one and the others is that the text is the New Living Translation of the Bible. It is select passages, all stories that will appeal to kids, but it is actual Biblical text. Other versions are good, but that are all re-written down to a preschoolers level. After reading through this version, though, I think most preschoolers would understand the stories straight from this version of the Bible. In the intro parents are instructed to help kids understand some of the bigger words, but it is easy enough to do that. In every passage, there are several hands-on activities to do with your kids as you read them the story. They are usually simple motions, such as covering your eyes with your hands to imagine what the earth was like before God formed it, or carrying a doll or stuffed animal as you read about how Moses' mother cared for him before placing him in the basket in the river. At the end of each passage, there is a prayer that makes the point of the Scripture personal. There are also two activities that are more than the simple ones in the story, and can help reinforce the message of the story. And finally, each passage ends with a "Jesus Connection," that helps your child see that Jesus is the center of all Scripture, even in the passages that don't mention him. This Bible is amazing, because it truly is the Bible. I'm not usually creative enough to come up with ways to help apply it to the life of a preschooler, and now I have an excellent tool. Tyndale House Publishers provided me with a free copy of this book as a part of their blogger book review program.

Great bible for young children!
My husband and I wanted a bible that was appropriate for our 3 and 5 year old, but it was also important to us that it contained actual scripture. This bible is perfect. It is broken down into stories, in the same order as the bible, and the text is scripture. The awesome part is that during the reading every once in a while you will see a little colored hand print which indicates a "hands on" activity. In the margin the activity is printed and is something simple like turning the lights on and off to go along with the Creation story when God says "let there be light". It keeps the children engaged and having fun with the story, but the activity is simple enough that it doesn't distract them from sitting down and listening. They quite easily stay focused on the story and are excited to see what happens next. At the end of the story is a an activity you can do during the week to review the story/concept of the story. There is also a prayer and I think some questions/discussion type stuff. I definitely recommend this bible!

So fun!
Love the little activities to do with my kids. Use for ages 2 and 3. Only select Bible stories are included. I was hoping it would include Galatioms Fruit of the spirit and it does not.

2nd grade reading level
I love this! My 7-year-old son can read this Bible independently. I would place it at a 2nd-grade or beginner 3rd-grade reading level, in case anyone is wondering. My son is quite picky and loves large fonts, color, and pictures, so this is just perfect for him! Does this Bible come with a workbook? There are several questions that require drawing, and my son enjoys finding activities and doing them on paper. It's so much fun! However, I would love to have a simple workbook that he can use alongside the Bible.

Real Scripture Made Accessible for Young Children
This Bible uses real biblical text while still being very approachable for young children. The discussion questions and topics are excellent and open the door for meaningful conversations. I bought it for my 4-year-old granddaughter to use during our homeschool preschool time, and it has been a wonderful fit.
