Cheap but Impressive
This thing is awesome! I'm impressed with it so far. It works perfectly with a Crown Vic Interceptor. Some of the reviews I've seen where it malfunctions seem like they were made by people who tried to use this device in a car with an incompatible computer system. If you have an OBD II system at least up until 2011 (my car is a 2011), it should work The device is very accurate in terms of the speedometer and tach. The moment I hooked it up, I started getting readings I didn't know my car measured, such as air intake temperature, just to name one If you want the most out of your vehicle, I highly recommend this product. Just a heads up, initial hook will take a few minutes for the device to scan and determine what kind of sytem you have. And, at least for me, to enable sleep mode, I have to keep the key in the ignition until after the countdown finishes. Then the device will reboot with the logo. After that I can take the key out and it will do another countdown until going into sleep mode. Other cars or trucks may cause it to operate differently in this regard. Oh, and not to mention as a bonus, this device and scan for and clear out engine fault codes. The device also has very good build quality, and there's a slight weight to it, still lighter than a samsung galaxy phone, for example. EDIT: I've used the device for over a week now and it still works fine. It's accurate and timely. There's no lag in any of the readouts. For the sleep mode, I discovered you can just shut the car off and take the key out. It may do the countdown and reboot a few times, but it will eventually just go into sleep mode without you having to do anything else. Also, I did order an extra phone holder as the double-sided tape on the devices stand is not strong enough to hold up on a window for too long. This is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall quality of the product

Great way to show important ECU info on a car with a minimal dash display
My wife drives a Chevy Sonic that has one of those terrible displays that shows very little live ECU data. A previous owner had chipped out the check engine and oil pressure lights from the dash, so an oil consumption issue (poorly engineered engine) caused it to run down to a half quart of oil and fry the piston rings. I tore apart the dash and discovered the chipped out diodes, and replaced the dash. It still didn't have much info. I replaced the engine (my wife loves the car) and apparently didn't connect a coolant hose to the heater core correctly. It was probably driven 150 miles until the hose popped off and sprayed coolant all over the engine. Thankfully, I pulled up to a stoplight and saw the steam. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I was driving and it was blowing under the car. I would have had no idea that the engine was heating up until the check engine light popped on, because it didn't have a temperature gauge. This device not only gives a live display of the coolant temp (and multiple other data feeds), but you can set an alarm to go off if a data stream exceeds a set value. It should not be a needed device, as the car manufacture should make a dash that displays this useful data, but this little thing works quite well. The alarm gives me peace of mind that my wife should catch issues before they become drastic, and the live data readout is nice for when I am working on or diagnosing problems. It saves me having to bring my code reader from my other vehicle. All-in-all, this device is a great value. 2 YEAR UPDATE This thing still works great. It is able to read OBD II codes, but won't clear them. I've only tried it on one car, so it may be related to the make/model. If I need to, I just use my code reader to clear a code. For live data display, it works great. It turns on and off with the car and provides a good display for helpful data.

Poor build quality but still useful
On my 2002 Silverado it hooked up and worked well for a little while right out of the box...the tach was accurate and responsive, temp was accurate as were trip and speedometer. But hit one bump and the instrument face developed a black box in center of screen and then the RPM values went all wonky...had to be reset every minute or so, something internal seems to have been poorly soldered or some such. It CAN be switched from metric to english temps and mph, others say it can't but mine could. As a functioning plug-and-play gauge it's not very useful to me BUT...when you dig into it's ability to read the data stream then it gets useful. It reads O2 sensor voltages, airflow volume and temps, tps and a few other things that are really nice to be able to monitor. My vehicle had no codes to read or reset but this ought to be able to do both so that's a potential plus. I'm sending mine back to see if I can get lucky with a better built unit because the design concept is excellent but I'm not holding my breath. Long and short...as a functional reliable gauge for daily driving I think it's junk but as a diagnostic tool I think it's not bad so buyer beware and good luck. Weeks later....this thing seems to work fine in my 2003 Grand Marquis. This car has no tach so I tried the obd2 gauge again on the Merc and damn but it works very well....zero issues. It has read and cleared 2 codes just today...both were legit codes and I know what caused them, it does not have the "black box of shit" overlaying the tach like it did in the Silverado. The tach has no latency issues, it reads mph within 1mph of the dash gauge, temp seems reasonably accurate so I have to say ...... this gauge seems to work well on some vehicles, less well on others. In my Mercury, it's a keeper. a week later....it still works....go figure. I guess it likes some vehicles more than others. 18 months later...it's still a little twitchy but it's still doing it's job in my daily driver...2003 Grand Marquis. It still reboots at random times and sends a warning beep for no apparent reason but it also does a good job of monitoring RPM, speed, temp, timing and voltage...I'm used to the hiccups and I've come to rely on it a lot...so for my application I'd give it a 4.5

Accurate and good display
The dashboard on my vehicle quit working and this was a good temporary solution until I was able to repair the cluster

not working correctly, update tool doesn't work either
the kw206 has potential but is still in it's beta-phase. It kind of works on my lada niva M 21214 year 2014. I can see and select most values. long trim fuel is missing though. for example. fault codes can't be read nor erased. there might be a firmware update but this one is not accessible. the update tool doesn't recognize the device properly and doesn't allow an update. people buy a new product so that they can use it right away, and not have to deal with support and hours of drivers installation and troubleshooting. if you are looking for beta-testers then you have to give your product away for free and reward people. otherwise you will just get bad reviews and not be able to sell anything anymore. I don't think it's that difficult??? we want working products for the money that we pay and you want to sell your products ...

Worked great
I bought one of these for my two trucks 04 and 96 rangers worked in both of them. I've only had it for a few days so far so I don't know how durable it is, but it seems to work good. It has a lot of different settings, so you can adjust a lot of things. It didn't really want to work at first in the 96, but you can manually make it hook up. And it works fine now. I also had to adjust the voltage 2 2 get it to shut off when I turn the car off but besides that, it works great, everything is really accurate and worked well i'm impressed so far.

No MPG Display
Spent some time looking for a unit in the $50 price range that displayed MPG ave and instant. It seemed like the description of this unit suggested it could do this, but I couldn't be certain without trying it. So I trusted in Amazon return policy and pulled the trigger... Well, sadly, this item does not display either. It does indicate gas used in a trip, which along with the distance traveled, that it also displays, can be used to calculate average mpg in your head, with a calculator, slide rule, etc. I thought the 21st century promised we wouldn't have to make such calculations ourselves?? Mind you, this is a slick product with a clear, pretty color display and the ability to display many raw OBD-II readings, reset error codes, etc. I liked it's relative ease of setup and overall it seems like a great value--if you're not looking for live display of MPG. Too bad. I was, so mine's going back to Amazon.

Amazing value in a single device
I drive a 2008 Prius that lacks all the standard gauges. When driving, you have your speed and how much gas remains. You can't check your battery, charging inverter, RPM, temperature, or anything like that. By the time you get a warning light you have been caught off guard. This little device takes care of that. You are able to customize the layout of your display, choose what info is most relevant to you, and set alarms. Afraid your engine will overheat? You can set a warning alarm to make this device beep if something abnormal is happening with your car. This gives you ample time to find a place to pull over before damaging anything. It takes may functions of an OBDII scan tool and integrates them well. You can check your MPG, your fuel levels, ignition, and any other information provided by your car's computer. If you have an error code it will give you the code, any pending codes, and a readout from an internal database to let you know what is happening. I use this device every time I drive my car. The sticky tape is very secure and easy to mount to a convenient spot on the dash. The device comes with everything you need to use it. It is plug and play -- simply select what information you want to see full time with the press of a button. If you have a hybrid, make sure to enable hybrid mode or stop-start mode. This keeps the device on when your engine turns off at a stop light. Very convenient and great to use!
