This book is an excellent reference for any Software or Hardware engineer that needs to know how PCIe works. It gives a historical perspective of the evolution on this communication standard that gives insight of why certain things are as they are.It's very well structure and you can find easily the information you are looking for. The language is very clear and easily to assimilate. This is really kind and easy to read - book even if it explains PCI and PCIe spec.As someone knows, PCI-SIG presentation includes some of figures of this book as the book has great visual figuresRespect to Authors.

well organized and easier to digest than reading the formal spec.I bought the ebook version so it's also convenient to look for anything provided no matter where you are.

Excellent book but the printed version is in black and white rather than in colors as shown in the review. It makes the figures and flow descriptions less user friendly.

Great detail on PCIe. Wish it was updated to include PCIe 4.0 though.

The book mentions color pictures/figures in many places but it is printed completely in black ink. Hence the details of many figures and pictures are not very clear.

It is very useful book and it has a lot of information and give overview and detail about PCIe systems and shows the differences between Gen1, Gen2 and Gen 3

I finished reading overview chapters and configuration part only but I can tell this book tells in details and intuitively. I like it.

An excellent text to use alongside the official specifications. Clear, concise and plenty of examples.
