"Be excellent to eachother..."
This is a Blu-Ray review.I have loved this franchise ever since I was a kid. A set of films I have watched dozens of times and never gotten bored of. I am able to recite 'Excellent Adventure' and 'Bogus Journey' off by heart. So when I heard they were finally going to make a third movie, I was elated.Which brings us to 'Face The Music'. It's not as good as it's predecessor films but it's not bad either. Obviously the surviving cast have aged a fair but since 'Bogus Journey' but it's easy to get back into the rhythm of the character's as soon as the film starts (Keanu Reeves, suddenly playing the bagpipes, really did make me laugh aloud!)Unfortunately though, I think the actor that played Rufus, had passed away and couldn't be in the film but the creaters gave him a cgi cameo, which was very sweet. My only real critique of the film and the only things I don't like is the messing with the original mythology... Bill & Ted, are no longer the saviours of the universe, they never saved the world, even though the news paper articles at the end of 'Bogus Journey' say they did and their son's (as also revealed at the end of Bogus Journey) have now for some reason become female's!NO! NO! NO!! Never mess with a franchise's mythology!!!But apart from that, it's very good and I like the way they incorporate the first two films ideas into this one too I.e. Time travel (Excellent Adventure) and the afterlife (Bogus Journey).Bonus features include: interviews, making of, and a look at Death's home in hell.

Loved it!
I have to admit that I was not sure I was going to get on with this movie. The original ('Excellent Adventure') is, to this day, one of my all time favourites. It's ('Bogus Journey') sequel I watched again very recently, and (strangely) enjoyed much more this time round. Still unsure of the whole 'Station' thing, and the guy from Faith No More dates it more than anything else.In the years since the first two movies the world has moved on, and then some. Keanu has become a huge (action) star (I read recently that he turned down a role in Oliver Stone's 'Platoon' over concerns about the levels of violence...er, 'John Wick'/'The Matrix' anyone...?), Alex Winter not so much, sadly. And yet it is Alex who I think slots more naturally back into the role of Bill S Preston (Esq), it fits him like a glove. Keanu is great as well, but is slightly more mannered as the older Ted 'Theodore' Logan (can't think of another way of putting it, sorry!) but after a few minutes in their company I had stopped paying attention to how they seemed, and just went along for the ride. And what a joyous ride it is (in my opinion!), a sweet, nostalgic tale, combining elements of the first two movies, along with a slight lament about not having realised their potential etc. To say any more would spoil things, but I will definitely being revisiting 'Face the Music' soon. As for all the comments on here about 'woke/wokeness', I'd say chill out and have some fun - it is obvious the whole thing is a massive labour of love, wears it's heart on it's sleeve, and is not trying to do anything except entertain you.Just my opinion though; watch, and make your own mind up."Be excellent to each other" and "Party on, Dudes!"

In my humble opinion, this was never going to be as good as the first two films
In my humble opinion, this was never going to be as good as the first two films, and its a rare thing that the sequel (let alone the sequel to the sequel) proves to be as good/better than the first film (Wayne's World is a possible notable exception). That said I think this does accomplish more than simply being a self-referential piece of nostalgia riffing gimmickry. There is content here which I had read about, given that the earlier films have been slated as "aging badly" and containing sexism or discriminatory content, I wont bore anyone with why I think that is a serious misjudgement of a simple, comic, feel good adventure (itself a parody of the UK's Dr Who). Thankfully, this is not one long apologia or whinge, which I kind of think it could have been. I have given it less than the five star rating as for me it did not hit the optimistic, happily ever after highs of the two former films, which would have been no easy feat anyway. There are a lot of excellent tropes which have carried over from the other films, a nice cameo, all the returning stars and characters you could possibly hope for (with the exception of Station or the "good robot us's", maybe). Some great comic reflections on music taste, its change over time and even call backs to content which that I bet people forgot from the first and second film. I even liked the time travel satire, although it was largely a reinvention of some content from the first film when the protagonists meet alternate time travelling versions of themselves. In part I like to see shows like this produced because I hope it inspires new viewers to go back and check out the original/earlier content. The first film remains the best of the three movies for me, I really loved the High School History Report, the concerts, or concert events, of the later films I think were largely trying to reproduce that. Plus I like the version of the future in the first film the most. This is worth a watch still, although it is not excellent like the others where.

Great fun
I love the first two Bill and Ted films, and was cautiously hopeful that this new film would do them justice - I was worried when I saw so many negative reviews, and after so long could this film live up to the legacy set by Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey? In short, yes. Ignore all the people moaning about this being 'woke' - they clearly have nothing better to do. This film possibly isn't entirely as funny as the first two, but it's close enough and entirely enjoyable. It took me a little while to click with it - for the first ten minutes I had my doubts, but once it found its feet the charm of the first two movies came flooding back and I thoroughly enjoyed it.Definitely a feel good fun movie that recaptures most of the charm and essence of the past two movies, and is a worthy addition to the series. Party on dudes.

Unfortunately it's not very good
There are so few feel-good movie franchises that it feels horrible having to say that this movie isn't so great. All of us, when we heard of this movie being made, against the odds, thought the same thing: Can they pull it off? The answer is – no, sadly. It just misses the spot. That's not to say it's a bad film. It's just a bit boring in parts, and it's more a case of being gently entertained, than being made to laugh out loud. It feels a bit like a TV movie, or even a sitcom. The first two movies caught the zeitgeist, and were very original and clever, to boot. They had energy. This movie rakes over the coals of those movies, really. It should've had the bravery to go off and do its own thing. All in all, this is something to watch if you need to fill a few hours. It's not something to watch with high expectations, or something to save for a rainy day when you need a guaranteed lift. If you want that, you should probably watch the first two movies again.

This film is so bad it's not even funny. I mean it, it's not funny.
This film is so bad it's not even funny. I mean it, it's not funny. The acting is atrocious, There is no character development at all. Bill and Ted's daughters are just blank slates, No personality, no characterization, you don't know there like or dislikes you know nothing about them, they are just empty shells. The whole end of the world thing never gets explained things just happen, people and land marks just pop out of thin air with out and rhyme or reason? I have no idea what that was about. The film is very linear it's about Bill and Ted trying to go in to the future to find the song they wrote but never find it. It get's boring and stale real quick. Then it turns out that Bill and Ted was never the savior of the world and they are not the ones who write the song that unites all humanity, it's their daughters which means everything that happened in the first two films is pointless. It's just like killing John Conner in the terminator 6 or what ever it was. Just stupid. The only good thing about this film is that it makes you appreciate how good the first film was, that's it.There was hardly any rock and roll in the film, the sound track was bland. You would expect at least one jimmy Hendrix song or something since Jimmy is in the film.(By the way, it was completely pointless having Jimmy in it as the band didn't matter one bit in the end.)There is a robot in it that wasn't needed and doesn;t add anything to the film. The whole film is a mess, it needed serious re writes before this saw the light of day. They needed to get jack Black involved or something as he would have done a much better job with this. The film is just bad, so very very bad with the smell of wokeness. You won't find any 69 jokes in here dude.

Bill and Ted are still brilliant, still funny and still excellent to each other.
Enjoyed this third instalment of Bill and Ted. We are big fans of the original and didn’t feel let down by this one. Same old Bill and Ted, different situation. This stays true to the original and, more importantly, to Bill and Ted. It’s the same but different, in a good way, because it doesn’t just repeat the storyline from the either of the first movies. Thus it feels like a continuation, like it should. Great cast, great movie. Fantastic to see Bill and Ted back together again. A long-awaited sequel, that was worth the wait.

Good fun
After reading a lot of negative reviews about this I was expecting the worst - but in the event I really enjoyed it. Yes, it's a bit of a rehash of B&T 1 and 2 but none the worse for that and it rounds the whole storyline off nicely. It was fun ... little Ted really manged to capture her dads mannerisms nicely without being over the top ... the tune at the end had my toes tapping and as it all ended I had a smile on my face and was feeling a lot cheerier than when I started watching. Just one disappointment - it boasted a behind the scenes extra feature which I was quite looking forward to - well if you blinked you'd miss it. It was totally rubbish!

divertente
