First thing you should know is this item is 100% useless by itself. You need to buy yet another item to actually connect this to your Manhasset stand. It's a mystery to me why these are sold separately.Currently this piece is selling on Amazon for $12.55. The other (necessary) piece (item 1400) is selling for $18.99 PLUS $4.49 shipping. So for an actual, usable flute stand, you'll pay $36.03 plus tax.It's also just a cheap piece of plastic. Both pieces are. So over $35 for a cheap plastic flute stand. For less than half that price, you can get a really nice metal, collapsible flute stand. There are many to choose from here on Amazon. So yeah, buy one of those. They're way nicer and cheaper. And you don't have to buy 2 separate things. Also, they're less likely to break because they're not made of flimsy plastic.

I am a professional musician. I bought this setup to have a lightweight, portable, convenient peg for my flute, piccolo and Irish whistles. It does a great job but I modified the flute peg by covering it in a felt fabric. I sewed a little tube, then used super glue to attach it at the bottom. The diameter of the peg was too small to securely hold my flutes. It didn’t feel secure. The felt makes the flute fit snugly. I wish the peg was a little taller. All in all, it gets the job done.

Just like the reviewer said, it’s a cheap plastic tube that’s useless on its own, one of their other adapters is required. The manufacturer makes excellent music stands, but the way they do accessories for it is bs
