Snows New England Clam Chowder, Condensed, 15-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)

I grew up with the Snow products. I remember the cold, damp winter days on Cape Cod. We also use it as a base for our fish chowder. Snow's Claim Chowder is a tasty and satisfying meal. Treat yourself to this classic chowder.

This product now has the Bumble Bee name on the can as well as Snow's, and the taste is quite different than before the label change. I do not know what was changed, but I personally do not care for the taste of the new product and will not buy it again.

I used to be able to get Snow's Clam Chowder at my neighborhood Food Lion Market. When they stopped carring it, I was able to get it at Harris Teeter. Then they stopped carrying it, and I obtained at at the Piggly Wiggly market. Now none of them any longer carry it. I was glad to find it on line at Amazon, so I ordered a case of it. Now once, again, I'm able to enjoy Snow's delicious clam chowder!!

Snow's is hard to come by in the southwest supermarkets but it is worth looking for or buying on line. Closer to homemade than the other name brands. Less of a starchy potato taste and more clam taste with the most clams of any canned chowder we have eaten. The potatoes are small and don't outnumber the clams. The only negative is that the soup is not a pearl white color like many other canned types of chowder. It is more a light creamy brown. We use skin milk to make ours to cut down on the fat, but use of a light cream or whole milk would make the soup even better. We also add diced celery, butter, ground pepper, and parsley for a real fish restaurant soup. We recommend Snow's to anyone that likes good chowder from a can.

Arrived fast. I added a can of evaporated milk and black pepper & Crackers on top. Better than most restaurants. Fast, easy meal.

This is the best recipe! The only problem is....we can't get it in the store. So glad we found it on AMAZON!

Sorry Bumble Bee, this was mothers milk to me ( and this is not it). I can not imagine what could have changed. I move away form the east coast in the 80's and no longer could I get Snow's. When I finally had the opportunity to get Snow's in 13' I jumped at the chance. As a Boy my father always told me that the clams in Snow's were tough sea clams and not the costal sand clams so I was prepared for some laps of memory. But this was not like what I expected at all. I just did not like it, and claim chowder was my favor at food, Snow's my favorite Chowder. So what happened? did they change the recipe like K*F?
