MOTU Masters of The Universe Classics Netossa Exclusive Figure

Netossa!
Netossa was one of the figures from the vintage Princess of Power line who came in at the end of its run, and so her vintage doll was (and still is) very hard to find. Her updated look for the Masters of the Universe Classics line is totally awesome! Her face is beautifully sculpted, and little paint details like fingernail polish on her hands add some nice touches. Netossa, like the other Princess of Power remakes, is very well articulated. Her long sculpted hair unfortunately impedes her head movement a bit, but she still poses well overall. I would recommend being careful with her netted cape, especially when taking it out of the box, as it is made of a rubber-like flexible mesh and might tear. (Mine hasn't, but I could see how it could if handled roughly.) You can take the cape off and pose her holding it, but you have to pop her head off to do so. She also comes with a shield, painted to match her costume. I wish they had also given her a sword or a trident (like a retiarius!) or something. For those not in the know, Netossa was The January 2013 release for Club Eternia. She is now sold out and only available on the secondary market.

This is a fine purchase to complete your collection of MOTU figures and ...
I never followed She-Ra much when it was on TV in the early to mid 80's, but I am now quickly learning about it as I compile my MOTU collection. This figure is well-sculpted, though the poofy blue hair is a bit odd. The costume is flowing, well painted, and intricate. This is a fine purchase to complete your collection of MOTU figures and I can safely recommend it. You won't be disappointed by the figure.

One of the best in the series!
One of the best figurines of the whole series. Plenty of detail on the paint job. Her cape is sturdy and the articulation of her joints are manageable. You won't be disappointed with Netossa! Just missing a couple more figures to complete the series!

A beautiful figure that could use another accessory
Netossa. She's an ally of She-Ra and she tosses nets. Got it? Netossa was the January 2013 figure in Mattel's Masters of the Universe Classics line and added another character to the ranks of the Great Rebellion from She-Ra: Princess of Power. Based on the character's appearance in the Filmation cartoon more so than the original toy, Netossa is a very striking figure. She has a beautiful color scheme and an excellent sculpt. Unfortunately, Netossa is very short packed on accessories and contains no offensive weaponry other than her cape which doubles as her net. Here's a brief look at Netossa:The Facts: Articulation: hinged ankles w/ rocking ankles, hinged knees, swivel thighs, ball jointed hips, swivel waist, ball jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel wrists, ball jointed head. Accessories: Shield, combination net/cape.The positives:*Netossa's color scheme is really nice. She's predominately clothed in dark and light blues with just a touch of silver and white here and there. Her skin is a beautiful, dark brown which looks quite lovely when pared with the cooler tones of her outfit. While she has some similarities in color to Frosta, when you put them side by side they look just fine.*Her costume also has some nice detail. Her bracers and top have some nice design work on them and while I dislike the net cape as a net, I love it as a cape. It looks great and is quite sturdy. Little details like her metallic blue fingernails also will catch your eye.*Netossa has a gorgeous head sculpt. Her hair is very thick and nicely styled and looks very exotic when paired with her very stern yet beautiful face. The negatives:*The biggest issue is that Netossa just doesn't have enough accessories. First she comes with her shield. It's silver and white with a dark blue jewel. It's a nice piece on its own, but its the same shield that came with both versions of She-Ra and Frosta. Not really a unique accessory. Her main "accessory" is supposed to be her net-cape. While this functions fantastic as a cape,: #1. It really makes a very poor accessory as it's shaped like a cape and #2 Never before in the MOTUC line has someone's cape or armor counted as an accessory. It's a shame that Mattel couldn't come up with something cool and unique for Netossa. Even a repainted sword from Bubble Power She-Ra would have been better than no weapon.Overall: While Netossa was not a figure I was eagerly clamoring for, I really like how she turned out. Unfortunately, it feels like she was the victim of some cost cutting on Mattel's part. I've fixed this by giving my Netossa the really cool silver trident that came with the DC Universe Classics Black Manta figure. This makes me so much happier with the figure, even though Mattel should have provided her with something unique of her own. It is nice to add more numbers to the growing Great Rebellion, though.
