why did i just eyeball it before??
this tool is great. the ruler on it makes it easy to figure out where to put the part with the hole in it. i made 7 perfect holes in my wall cabinets. i cannot believe i used to do this by eyeball. now all my door handles look exactly lined up and so professional.

Will definitely help you when installing handles.
The only reason that I gave this a 4 was that when I purchased it the price was much higher. It has come down under $10 currently which is a steal for the way this will hep you and save time. If you're drilling these holes by hand, stop! and get this. It only takes n 1/8" off and next thing you know your handle doesn't line up straight or the holes won't line up at all. This is so much worth the time and aggravation to do it correctly the first time.

Does a great job!
This hardware jig did a great job. After I set the template to the proper dimensions, I had my wife drill the holes while I held the jig in place. We were able to do our entire kitchen in an hour and a half. The only reason it took that long was we were using different sized handles for certain cabinets and we have different sized drawers. If they were all the same size, we would have been done in 30 min.

Excellent guide for the money
This gadget is good for getting you into the ballpark for drilling consistent cabinet handle holes, but it has its limitations. Check and double check before you drill! I got a job installing 40 cabinet handles, so rather than 'wing it' with just my tape measure, I went looking for a jig. When I found this one for $10, I figured it was worth a shot. My first knobs were single pulls (one screw) on doors above the stove. First hole was perfect, but when I flipped the jig around, using the same guide on the other door, the second hole was 1/8" higher. I chalked it up to user error, but it (almost) happened again on the next set, so I started using the jig to mark my holes with a punch, then double-checking where I should drill with my level and tape. All went fine after that. One of the challenges with the jig is the plastic likes to slide on the finished cabinet surfaces. Some rubber on the contact surfaces might make it easier to hold in place when drilling. Use it to mark your holes with an awl, punch, or even your drill bit (gently!), then measure your marks for accuracy before drilling. Bottom line is, for the money, this gadget will get you close enough to your spot that you can install handles accurately and consistently WiTH CARE. Markings on the rulers are precise enough, and the notches for centering and aligning are in the right place. Great for a one-off job, or to get used to placing knobs and handles with a little help. Have patience, and this jig will work just fine.

Needs better instructions
UPDATE: So I went online and found a picture how to attach the depth tab. There is one slide tab that has a side hole to attach the depth tab. Who knew? The instructions that came with this product does not give details of how to assemble.Even with it assembled correctly, I was still drilling holes that weren't level, even though it showed level with my leveler tool.Buyer beware! They offer no contact information with the instructions.

Excellent tool
I never used a cabinet door template before. It made accuracy quite easy. I would recommend testing it out on some junk wood first. I had a button knob on kitchen cabinets changing to a 5 inch knob. so I used that button hole as my center for a 5 inch knob. I used a long screw on that center predrilled hole to stabilize the template. Use the brace on the template. Take your time and use a level. Use the brace to keep template straight. I used a drill will a fine bit. I tested the accuracy of the holes with my new door knob, checking with a level, to make sure it was straight.

Works ok for long pulls when You have one hole all ready
You don't need to measure. If you have the new long pull and one hole in a cabinet door, you simply install the long pull, or very long, to set the length. Then you take out the pull and put a long screw in the bottom hole to the steel hole in the jig. Push till the catch piece, anchoring to the side flus with a hand—a helper is not needed but might be a good idea—hold in place and drill the top hole. Make sure you don't go into the case. It is cheaply made, I had one just in case,

Fait le travail
Bon pour utilisation de travaux légers. Ça fait bien le travail mais le matériau semble fragile. Bon rapport qualité-prix.
