Great club at a fair price.
When I first tried this club, I was under impressed. I had just finished cutting grass on a blisteringly hot day, had trimmed all of the beds and was tired but, I was anxious to try the club. I put it aside and then tried it again the following day on the golf course. Had I judged the club on day one, I would have returned it. Now it is my go-to club when I am within 100 yards of the green. What I like about the club is it sleek profile and the weight of the head. I find that I am more confident when having to hit these shots and am hitting more greens consistently except when I am misaligned. If you have trouble hit conventional short irons and feel yourself tense up at address which, by the way, is a formula for disaster then give this club a try. I had it built with a senior shaft and then I retrofitted it with a Golf Pride Tour Wrap Mid-Size Grip. The standard grip seems to make me want to squeeze the club too tightly and inhibits a good release. The mid-size grip allows me to grip with less pressure and allows a better release at impact.

No brainer
I've played golf all my life, and at one time was pretty good. However now at age 70 my swing speed has slowed way down. Consequently my iron play has really suffered. The problem isn't so much distance - I can pull a 5 instead of a 7 iron - but height. Low shots can't carry hazards or hold greens. So hybrid clubs to the "rescue". I've played Orlimar clubs in the past and it's a quality brand. You can pay lots more for a hybrid - at $50 these are a great buy and allowed me to afford a set of 5-9. I chose the senior shaft. The quality is very good. The grips are fine but I prefer an oversize grip and put on Winn dry tac oversize grips. The clubs were D-0 swing weight when delivered and the heavier grip changed then to C-9. Probably like you, I really rely on these reviews - especially when buying something sight unseen and untried. So the bottom line - Buy Them! I couldn't believe how high they they launch the ball. They have a nice balance and have really helped my game. I've gained about 5 yds per club because they have a huge sweet spot and you'll love that feel of a solidly hit shot time after time. A hybrid 8 iron with the wide sole is a deadly chipping club. Hope this helps. One more thing - my golfing buddies have seen the light too.

Small head but easy to hit Hard to work the ball
They are ok seem a little thin really can’t work a ball great for hammering the ball on a big course I have all of the hybrids 5/pw keep one or two in my bag depending on where I’m playing they are good and quality is great and a lot cheaper than an OEM hybrid

Airborne Flight of your ball, when you hit the "Sweet Spot"
This is a different hybrid, but I like it. It is a sleek built club, but you can easily get the ball in the air with it. It's becoming one of the favorites in my bag. Quality built!

Grip no secured
The grip on this club is not secured 100%. The top 3 inches of the grip has no glue that secures the grip to the shaft. You can feel the disconnect when gripping the club. To fix this I now need to have a new grip put on the club at my expense. Not very good quality and not very good quality control inspections. I will keep the club because I have used it. But you need to address this BIG PROBLEM..

Club head too small and a terrible return policy (look elsewhere)
As many others have mentioned,. the club head is VERY small, making it difficult for any but the best golfers to hit well. I purchased a 3 and a 5, and after trying to hit the 3 a few times, I made sure that it was in "New" condition and returned both clubs. Days after they received my return, I received 50% of what I paid for the clubs. Unless you are a single handicap golfer, I would suggest taking a hard pass on these rescue clubs.

Distance
Easy to hit and have the same distance of 150 yards as with my 7 iron. This 7 iron hybrid lands softly.

Nearly shank proof
If you have ever had the shanks, and I hope you never do, you know how it is disastrous to your game. It sometimes can last for days or weeks. I bought this club not to use regularly but when the shanks visit. I do use it in an extra set I have for a par 3 course. For the money it is a well made club, easy to hit and for me, shankless. 10/4/23 I have used this and a 9 from Orlimar repeatedly and wanted to update this review. These are truly quality clubs at a cost of 40% of the major brands. The finish is holding up along with performance. I highly recommend these clubs. They are “inexpensive” but not cheaply made. Update 6/2025. Still very happy with these clubs. Holding up very well. Great value.

Works well
Nice to have an easy club to hit... now a full size hybrid so it makes a nice middle ground between the irons and hybrids!
