Following his spiritual and artistic rebirth, and hot on the heels of his incredibly well received release, ‘Mona Bone Jakon’, Cat Stevens unveiled his second album of the year in November 1970 … and it was to become one of the defining musical statements of the new decade. ‘Tea For The Tillerman’ not only consolidated Cat’s success in the UK and forged him a glittering new career in the USA, it also set him on the road to global superstardom and gave the world songs like ‘Wild World’, ‘Father & Son’, ‘Where Do The Children Play?’ and many more. To commemorate the album’s 50th anniversary comes this stunning new 180 gram gatefold vinyl 2020 remaster of ‘Tea For The Tillerman’ by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road, overseen by original producer Paul Samwell-Smith.

GOOD BUT NOT AS GOOD AS I WAS EXPECTING!
I was eager to receive this cd as I already own the excellent 2008 deluxe version, would this new version beat it? NO! The sound is good and free from compression and peak limiting and over loud/no dynamics, the mix is slightly different, some guitars sound slightly emphasised, but the 2008 sounds more dynamic and detailed in the bass and the sound has more omph! like a really high end vinyl record, the new version is a little grey sounding, lacking tonal colour. The 2008 version sounds like an original master, its that good, buy that one if you want the best sounding version.

A superbly remastered classic album on Vinyl
This 50th Anniversary new pressing on vinyl is just superb. The production and sound quality are just excellent. His wonderful voice is portrayed beautifully on all the tracks. If you don’t have it already, just buy it. You will be exceptionally pleased with your ourchase

Cracking Record
Great album; please see other reviews for critique. I just want to use this space to highlight how a brand new, never before played, vinyl album can have more snap, crackle and pop than a near fifty year old incarnation. Recommend thorough cleaning before play.

item not as discripted and looks cheap and nasty
item wasnt as expected when it arrived. when CD arrived it was in a cardboard sleeve only and not a cd case as you would of expected. Seller makes no reference to the cd coming this way in there product discription which is really poor as i would never of purchased this if they had as it was for a Christmas present. Product looks really cheap like one of the free cds you would get with a newspaper
