I use these for paper crafts and card making. It's certainly not the intended use! I have used these tools with clay also, and they work well. They are good quality - nice, solid heads. I've had cheaper ones with seams down the ball, which is rather terrible. They have good weight to them, which helps reduce the amount of pressure needed to do the job.

I still use these and I've had them for about a year now. They're so versatile and can be used for so many different clay things. I especially like the rubber smoothing tool on the end of he middle ball size. Use it very often. I recommend.

These work perfectly with clay but they also work with paper. I'll explain, I love enamel dots for cards but they're soooexpensive! Use a circle paper punch then put the paper on a stamping mat, a couple of pieces foam or even a piercing mat and just then just use one of the tools and make it a round dome, then put it on an embossing ink pad and put UTEE on it then heat it. Anyone who has worked in clay knows that the slightest little thing can put unwanted dents or lines in your sculpture. And if you've ever worked with Sculpey clay trying to sculpt small dolls, that is especially true.I bought these tools because they were made by Sculpey and if anyone knows Sculpey clay, Sculpey should.The ball end of these tools are excellent and is the only part of the tool I'll use. The rest of the tool is pretty shoddy. The handle is plastic and has a seam along it which marks your clay if you try to use it for smoothing. The non metal ball end is made of rubber. I'm assuming these ends are to be used for shaping and smoothing the clay. But they also have raised seams on both sides, so smoothing is impossible with these tools other than with the ball end.Really, I was expecting more from Sculpey. These tools get 4 stars only for the ball ends which is the only useful part of these tools as far as I'm concerned.

I love the grip feel and the tools are sturdy, very well made. I am really happy to have them!

I received my package today and it arrived as promised. These tools should be part of every clay workers shop. They make beautiful lines in your work. If you sculpt then you would definitely benefit by these tools. I would recommend these highly.

If I would found these tools first it would have saved me a lot of money.This set is amazing. It does everything I need but cut the clay for my miniature food creations.
