This 3-piece set is awesome! Stores well in the provided pouch, which you can carry in your purse; keep in your desk at work; or leave in your car's glove compartment for those times the drive-through forgets to include utensils in your fast-food sack.

These are okay to have in your BOB or EDC bag.

I take these guys everywhere with me. It serves as an excellent replacement for plastic disposable utensils.I would much rather use these silverware than plastic ones.

First, I received this utensil set free for testing and review. While I recognize that a review of a free product is something fundamentally different from that of a product for which one has paid, I do believe that such reviews are useful when the process is respected and I've tried to do that here. What you're getting with this order: (1) Foldable spoon (1) Foldable fork (1) Foldable knife (1) Carry bag What are these, and why might I want them?: This is a set of 3 utensils that each fold to a compact size of 3.7" and extend to a length of about 6". The handles are simply composed of a wire frame, keeping the weight down and thus the entire set with the bag included weighs about 3 ounces. These could be ideal for activities such as backpacking or other travel where you hope to keep weight to a minimum. Do they work?: Yes, they work perfectly. I consider these a great discovery for backpacking as they give you a quality utensil but have a minimalist build at the handle keeping the weight down. I'll be leaving the knife at home as I already carry a perfectly good knife for other tasks, but the fork and spoon are perfect for the backpacking I do and should please even many ultralighters. If you find 3 ounces too much to devote to utensils, you could just carry the fork or just the spoon. The utensils fold down but there is not way to lock them in the folded position. When opened, they have a small, metal slide that when pushed into place stops the utensil from folding while you're using it. A cool design that works really well. Anything else of note?: At the posting of this review, these are being offered with free shipping allowing you to keep the price right at $8. Any negatives?: I'd like to be able to lock the utensils in the folded position and it doesn't appear that there's any way to do that. Bottom line: As a backpacker, I consider this a great find this year even though it's an inexpensive and seemingly insignificant item. I've generally just taken a plastic, fast food spoon and I've often broken it before my trip is over. These solve the problem of durability and keep the weight and space to a minimum. I love these and would recommend them to backpackers and to anyone looking for a durable utensil set in the budget price range.
