A Unique New York Flavor
Choward’s violets taste unlike anything you have ever had, yet they are instantly recognizable as tasting like violet flowers. This is the first I was aware they made candy mints in this flavor. I have previously only seen them almost exclusively sold in the NYC subway news stands, and only in the format of chewing gum. They are sold as chiclets type pieces of gum that taste exactly the same as the violet candy mints (only the gum lasts longer). The violet flavor is a powerful breath saver and a nice change from the tired old spearmint, wintergreen mint stuff. If you forget and leave one in your pocket, your laundry may smell like spring flowers.

Enjoy the violet mints.
I have been eating these mints since I was in junior high. I have bought the individual packs, but I do like the small individual mints, maybe even more so than the packs. The violet mints are an acquired taste, but I myself love the taste. Might also be the reason I love black licorice anything.

Taste okay.
Love it. Very tasty but not like the square ones. These you can feel the taste but not as strong. The size was circular but very sturdy. It didn’t break in my pocket like the square ones do.

Absolutely delicious
These candies brought back my childhood. My great grandmother and I would walk to the corner store every Sunday after church and she would buy me a package of Choward Violet mint candies. I was only about 3 years old, but l remember her old hand holding on to mine as we both tottered down to the corner, my mom in tow, to get out candy. It’s a pleasant memory, and one of the few I have of my early childhood. My Great Grandma died before I reached 4 years old. I don’t remember her face, but I remember the warmth of her hand and her generous heart and I remember how much I love the flavor of Choward’s Violet Mints to this day!
