How long do these take to burn out? I've heard you are suppose to let candle burn down completely for spell work but worried about leaving it burning

These are not the best candles to get.if ur doing spell work get a better brand of chime candles.i wasn't happy with these the wax is crappy but with chimes you get about 2 hours of candle time.

They’re bigger than birthday candles.

They can, yes. That's how I get them to stay on flat surfaces. Let it drip and then place the candle in the wax
