Steel Frame Dishrack

Honestly, i was dubious about this, and thought that the hype and cost would turn out to be overblown. Happy to say i was wrong! I opted for the KT1181 Steel Frame; Dishes dry faster, and it holds a great amount, even iron cast heavy stuff . Very well thought out design, for example, no scummy little water puddle underneath that id found reoccurring with crappy plastic dish racks (fair enough they were £3 'cheapies', but still). This is thanks to the directable 'spout' that moves water away fast and cleanly. All very well built, and have to say very good looking....for a dish rack. Is it the most expensive dish rack you will buy in your life? Perhaps. But, seriously just buy it.

I used the previous version of the steel rack for almost 10 years but alas the plastics get brittle with age and the whole kaboodle needed replacement. These Simplehuman racks are very durable and I expect this to last as long as the old one did. The new version improves on the previous with a fixed front cup drainer (which no longer slides in and out) and now drains the water into a separate funnel. The drainer funnel is updated and no longer leaks due to the way the rotating joint is designed. It is easier to remove and clean, just unscrew the metal disc at the top of the tray and off it comes as gunk will collect down there. The plastic base is sealed and bonded to the steel rim. I have no problems with water leakage. You can pile on loads of plates, pots, pans, chopping boards etc. Its very spacious. However I'm not too happy its no longer supplied with the bamboo knife block that came with the old version, which for me was indispensable. Fortunately with a bit of DIY hackery the old block can just about be squeezed into the cutlery drainer. This is an expensive purchase but from my experience of the previous one, this should also last a very long time.

I was absolutely blown away by the amount of dishes, pots and pans, this can hold! I love that it has that draining spout so you don’t have to worry about emptying it. I love how sturdy it is so you don’t have to worry about it bending and going wonky Super stylish and I really would recommend this to anyone looking to invest in a good quality stylish dishrack

The Rolls Royce of drying racks? I wouldn’t call it heavy, but it is certainly sturdy and won’t move about on your table, which is good. I personally love the stainless steel design, and the draining spout can be rotated through 360 degrees so the rack can be used in 4 different setups. There is a wine glass bracket included, which I haven’t used, but I love the little hooks for mugs and glasses. Plates, pots, pans and even large heavy cutting boards stay in place, and I’m never worried they will fall over, unlike some other brands I’ve used in the past. Very good product, expensive, but worth the money.

Rather large, check the size before buying. Altogether a great piece of kit, but it does sometimes leak from the central point into worktop which is obviously the opposite of what it’s designed to do. Might be just mine?

Smart way to tidy up the washing up since I’m no longer using the dishwasher as too expensive to run. I bought the larger one and glad I did. Sits nicely on the counter top. Can be placed both ways as the drainage thingie is moveable. It has a good looking grey coating which seems to repel water and so far no wet underneath at all. Handy glass and mug hangar system which is useful and keeps them safely away from other items they might bump against. Pricey but worth it as this will be in use for s long time.

Dries the dishes very well and very sturdy dish rack. Water spout drains excess water away into sink. I have removed wine glass rack since I don’t need to use it and I like there is flexibility to remove/add parts. Although cutlery tray does not have a water drip tray, it was a minor issue because I have fixed in within the actual dish rack instead of hanging on the side. Very roomy and fits dishes for family

This dish rack is amazing. It fits so much and doesn’t leak at all. Definitely worth the money - it comes with a 5 year warranty.
