Amazing budget keyboard, with US layout.
The media could not be loaded. Found this keyboard for my girlfriend by searching PCPartpicker for cheapest mechanical keyboard. I had never heard of Asceny and never really liked 60% keyboards. This one, however, is excellent.PROS:-Not just for the price, this is a really good keyboard. It has genuine Gateron optical switches, which feel just like traditional switches but with a longer life and lower latency. We chose the blues, for a satisfying loud click.-The keycaps are double shot, though they are only textured on the top and have slight imperfections at the bottom corners. No issue, they feel good and look great.-The build quality is good, with a sturdy plastic base, detachable USB-C cable and solid stabilisers.-The RGB LEDs are individually addressable and the switches have a little magnifying lens that makes them brighter. Cool. As well as this, under the keycaps is a white plastic base that reflects the glow of the light. More keyboards should do this. There are also many visually pleasing effects to choose from that are smooth and well-executed.-The keyboard has memory and software.-The company includes a funny letter, ONLY makes keyboard and related accessories and seems really cool and proud of their work. I feel this is important when buying a product like this, I really quite like them.-The 60% layout isn't as bad as expected, as many frequently-used keys are easy to get to, with an FN button that can stay pressed with a double-tap.-Comes with cool multicolour keycaps that definitely have an aesthetic.-£25. What else can I say!?CONS:-Only available in US layout. I WANT MY £ SIGN.-Keys with stabilisers feel just a touch mushy. Really not too bad though.-Software is very early development and is confusing to use. Their online video guide helps a lot though.-LEDs are fairly dim, literally half the brightness of my Wooting, but still looks great. Conclusion: better than £50+ keyboards in almost every way, packed with cool features for enthusiasts too.

At Sale Price, 6/5 Stars Across The Board
Gateron Optical Blacks in an RGB board for 40 dollars?! What?!The value at the price I paid ($40), is unbeatable. It's hotswappable among opticals (which is limited, but who cares, it comes stock with Gat Blacks!). It is otherwise identical to virtually every other sub-$100 keeb out there. It has a clean, stiff plastic body, high profile walls, nice RGB, GREAT switches, and comes with a hilarious letter in the box that I will keep secret, in case you buy one yourself. At $80, I am starting to look at options that have software, as these keebs are likely all made by the same OEM manufacturer, so the only difference ends up being "Does it have software?" I still think it would not be a BAD purchase at full price, just for the switches alone, but it is merely amidst the competition. At $40, this thing is a no-brainer. The only other keyboard I would recommend in this price range is the Magegee Star61 (an analog hotswappable), but this thing DESTROYS the Star61 (unless the Star61 is also on sale). The value proposition here is so good that it is not just an "I recommend you buy it on sale," but rather, I recommend you buy 2, so you have a backup. There is no single $80 keeb on the planet that can come close to the value of owning two of these. You'd have twice the expected product life, on top of the insane life expectancy of optical switch boards. Get two with the same switches and you'll have a backup set of switches in case of failure, or get two different switch-types and enjoy the variety. Don't have any money for PBT keycaps? Doesn't matter: you now have a backup set of caps to swap out once the shine sets in! Wanna fiddle with case dampening, but don't know what the hell you're doing? It's okay: you have a backup!Despite the fact that I have way too many keebs in the sub-$100 range, I have just talked myself into buying a second one of these. Perhaps I am just a fool, easily separated from his money, or perhaps the value proposition here is just that good!

Excellent Budget Keyboard
I have been using full size keyboards for quite some time. I wanted to transition to a 60% keyboard and started my research. I started with reading reviews from multiple sources and concluded that this is the keyboard for me. A big part of my decision was the positive feedback that others had on the product. I also took in to account that their message seemed down to earth. The humor is there and that along with a quality product is magic.I received the keyboard in a timely manner thanks to Amazon and was eager to try it out. While unboxing, I noticed the quality of the product. It feels sturdy and not cheap in any way. The first thing I wanted to know was the feel. I began typing with the intensity of a hacker in a television series. I was creating a GUI interface using Visual Basic, to see if I could track an IP address with speed never seen before. The feeling was amazing and I was stimulated both through feeling and sound. Thanks Asceny for the pleasure. With all that out of the way, I will say this is a great keyboard. The price is right, the feel is right, the sound is right, everything is just right. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone because I know it will not disappoint.
