Will it lose its shape or melt in a hot car? Could be upwards of 140°F in the summer.

Won’t melt, but will flatten out in extreme heat. Just frame heat back to it to reshape.

can you use felt on foam clay?

Hello,

Great question!  After you have worked with the wet clay and let it dry, when it forms a hard outer surface, you can work with it like you would EVA Foam.

So the answer is Yes!  You can attach the felt with similar adhesives that you would use with EVA Foam; like Contact Cement (this is our go to favorite), basic glue, hot glue, etc.

Does it attach to eva foam? (Eg. Patching holes in foam)

Yes, The Foamory's Moldable Foam Clay has been specifically formulated to attach to EVA Foam.  Adding a little bit of water to the clay as you are working with it can help it attach as well.  Also, once the clay has dried to its EVA Foam like state, you can attach it with an adhesive such as a contact cement.

Does hot glue stick to it? And also would it rip if you tried to sew it on to something?

Hello,

Hot glue will work just fine and will stick to it, of course you will want to let the clay dry after you are done shaping it before you apply the hot glue.

We have successfully sewed the Foam Clay in the past.  Depending on your project we would highly recommend Priming it before you sew.  To Prime the Foam Clay we recommend using something like Plasti Dip or a priming paint.  This will give it a tougher outer skin that will help hold the stitches.  PRO TIP: if you want your Foam Clay design to be more flexible, don't wait for the Clay to completely dry before Priming it.  We suggest applying the Primer after about 24 hours or the initial Curing stage where it starts to form its outter skin.
