Winsome Mona Stool, 24", Antique Walnut

It was decently priced, beautiful and a nice steady piece of furniture. I love it. Comfortable. Very much needed in the room. I will buy this brand name again in the nearfuture,

Assembly was easy but a little confusing. No 90-degree angles so pay attention. It didn't help that one of the "Down" labels was on the "Up" side. Once that section was assembled, it was obvious. Didn't hurt anything. Just took longer to disassemble and then assemble again.One of the pre-drilled holes for the screws was not centered but, again, didn't affect the outcome.This comes with its own L-shaped allen wrench (hex key) but I used six-sided drill bit with my power drill. These screws are long. To screw these in manually will wear out your wrist!Had to use a 12-inch long extension to get the right angle on some of the screws under the seat. If you don't have one, the allen wrench will come in handy.Biggest tip! Don't tighten any screws until all the parts are in place!At the end, it looks as it should and is stable. There is a one eighth-inch gap between one leg and cross bar. Otherwise, looks great!Considering this was the cheapest 24-inch stool I could find I'm very happy!

Great stool sturdy and easy assembly

This is not a stool - it is a kit which is impossible to assemble. The reason is that the pieces of wood which you receive have never existed as a stool. It should be illegal for merchants to sell you a stool but then deliver a box filled with individual pieces of wood which must be screwed together to form a stool, especially if the merchant did not go to the effort of confirming for each kit that is sent out that it indeed will assemble into the intended item.The biggest problem with this kit is that the brass screws are made of relatively soft metal, and the hex driver is made of hardened steel, so that each of the brass screws is systematically stripped of its hexagonal head, each of which are turned rapidly into smooth cylindrical holes as the necessary force is applied to drive the screw into the wood. This would not be a problem if the merchant had bothered to assemble the stool before shipping it. Even if they had to disassemble it for shipping, at least the stripped hex-head screws could be drilled out at the factory and replaced with new screws with fresh hexagonal heads.As it is, I now have a dangerously wobbly stoolish-appearing loose assembly of wood pieces which is impossible to disassemble, due to the cylindrical shape of the stripped screw heads, and just as impossible to complete assembly. If I owned a fireplace, I would burn it at this point. If I lived near the merchant, I would heave it through his plate glass window, if I could get away with it.I warn you with the deepest sincerity, please do not buy this stool KIT unless you enjoy being frustrated, furious, having skinned knuckles, and wanting desperately to commit mayhem despite the risk of long-term imprisonment.

I purchased this stool for my indoor cat to sit at the window & watch the birds. She loves it! It was a bit difficult putting the screws in under the seat, but turned out very nice.

These stools look really nice & are fairly comfortable. BUT the assembly was horrible. I’ve put together a lot of items but this was the worst. They come with large screws and an Allen wrench. Why they didn’t use screws you could use a screwdriver with, is beyond me. The wrench kept slipping off the screw head and the holes were not drilled deep enough. After struggling to get the screws in, I found a driver that took the same head and that helped a little. I finally had to get out the drill & drill the holes deeper. That solved the problem. Unfortunately from trying to get these screws in & the wrench slipping, I ended up with one screw head damaged to the point I couldn’t tighten it or take it out. Because of that, the cross bar couldn’t be tightened on that side, so I used glue to keep it together. I couldn’t insert the little wood button in that hole because the screw wasn’t in far enough, but it faces the wall so no one will notice it. If you purchase these, I would drill the holes before putting it together. I just hope the glue holds on mine.

I was having trouble finding a chair or stool that was affordable and high enough for this table, but these ended up being a godsend. They were very easy to put together even though the directions were in spanish and very sturdy to sit on.
