When i pull in water, it leaks back out. is that normal? i expected it to hold the water in, but instead i have to tilt the syringe upside-down.

Must've gotten a bad one, or plunger seal needs refitted. I use mine to fill my motor home batteries with distilled water, and mine doesn't leak.

Will this work for putting in thick 75w-90 gear oil? For 4 liters, I only have to do it 8 times rather than a ton of pumping with a fluid pump

Technically it would but takes a lot of effort to the point that you’ll just give up and just pour it in because the nozzle is too narrow. I bought it to transfer paint from a 5gal bucket to my sprayer container and by sucking the paint was exhausting and time consuming so I just poured the paint instead. I hope you got the idea.

Can I remove all/most of the air for storage? I want to store a viscous product (wax/oil) that will harden if left exposed to air even in its own jar

it is NOT ideal to extract air. You may consider a vacuum sealer

Will this work with pool chlorine?

I'm not sure, but if it's thicker than water probably not. This didn't work well for motor oil at all for me.

Great syringe for lawnmower and automotive use

I used this great syringe and tube to easily and cleanly suck out the old oil from my lawnmower. The alternative has been to tip the lawnmower on its side and pour out the old oil which makes a huge mess on my driveway and all over the side of the mower. I should have bought this syringe and tube 6 years ago when I bought the lawnmower!

Worked okay but a few issues

The letters wore off after a few uses and it takes a lot of force to push out or suck in liquid. I used it for power steering fluid in my car. May get something else later. Maybe one of those things with the 2 tubes.

If you're going to change your power steering or brake fluid. this will do the job, and it will do it faster than those lotion pumps. only down side is that it is hard to pull but you will get the job done.
