1.85” Charbroil Universal Lid Replacement Temperature Gauge - 7484426P06

Perfect replacement for my Charbroil bbq. Takes a couple minutes to install by hand. Turned on bbq and gauge did exactly what it was supposed to do

It’s a good replacement, didn’t fit perfectly into my grill , but it wasn’t supposed to , it fit other grill in the charbroil family but my was different, I took a chance on this one cause charbroil doesn’t make my model part anymore, so I got this one , it’s made very well and does it’s job well , but fit was a little small I had to enlarge the hole just a little for it to sit right and tight. But it’s a good replacement.

This thermostat works as advertised. However, if you don't have a mounting bracket and you want to mount it directly to the grill like I did. Then you will need to make sure you have these additional accessories. 1. 1/2" drill bit so the thermostat fits all the way down to the metal of the grill. 2. A couple of washers that are as big around as the spacer that's on the backside of the thermostat. I installed this on a Char-Broil 3 burner Classic Grill. It did not come with a thermostat so I installed one. They are also called "American Gourmet". If you unscrew the wing nut from the thermostat you will see a round piece of metal that's about 3/8" around and approx 1/4" thick. The hole you drill in the grill needs to be 1/2" so that it sits all the way flush. Then you need to add your two spacers and those spacers also need to be 1/2" on the inside so it fits around that metal spacer on the thermostat. As long as you do that it will work perfectly and fit perfectly.

Works perfectly but did not fit exactly in the Chrome ring. Had to make a minor adjustment and cut a little bit of the Chrome ring

Now I can use my grill to roast things

I bought this to replace one that looks exactly like it for my Char Broil grill because the original suddenly decided to read 80 degrees high. The original had a shaft with a flat that matches up with the flat on the bezel between it and top of the grill so when mounted it's aligned. This thermometer had no flat spot. It's round. Did not fit. I did not want to make a flat spot on it because the grinding might affect it's accuracy, so instead I took a dremel and ground the hole in the bezel so it was round. Fits and works, but I should have not had to do this. The new thermometer is accurate.

Easy install, wasn't quite the one I needed, but I made it work.
