Of course the price dropped immediately after I ordered this item. Shipping took a *long* time.For general purposes, I find that the serrated edge portion of the blades actually hinders clean cutting of most materials. Yes, they will cut wire, but one is hard pressed to snip anything larger than 14Ga. I bought these because they were recommended in Popular Mechanics. I am still looking for a small pair of quality scissors to suit my needs. No serrations.

Great general use Scissors. Sheath would be nice. For light to medium duty-terrific.

These guys are really a wonder. They cut neatly, cleanly, and precisely through everything I've tried them on including sheet brass. Highly recommended.

super high quality precision tool for less money than some average scissors in a department store. Shipping takes .way too long as it comes from Japan but I did not subtract any star because the precision quality and low cost makes it well worth the wait

Extremely sharp, sturdy scissors. Not as burly as electrician's shears but perfect if you also have serious diagonal cutters or lineman's pliers around for really heavy stuff.Update: I like 'em so much that I just got a second pair.

Precise and convenient cutting

このハサミは文房具のハサミではありません。純粋になんでも切れるハサミのつもりで買うと失敗するでしょう。普通のハサミはケーブルなどのちょっと鉄系の混じったものを切ると刃が痛むか留め金が痛みます。セラミックなどは欠けたりもします。上記の場合や素材や部品の加工するにも文房具のハサミでは “ちょっと” 硬いものを切る事が多い用途でこの製品は真価を発揮します。ようは万能なわけではないのです。普通のハサミよりヘビーデューティーで傷みづらいそこがこの製品の良い特徴なのです。刃が短い理由も、これより長いと一見便利そうですが、硬いものを切る時に刃がしなり隙間が出来て切れないのです。切れ味が思ったより良くない？例えば薪を割るとき斧や鉈を使いますよね、いくら切れ味が良くても柳葉包丁で切る人はいませんよね。そういう事です用途が違うのです。つまるところ、その辺の用途を理解せずに使えば、手も痛くなるし、硬すぎるものや用途外の物を切ればそりゃ切れません。それと私は左でハサミを使用しますが全く問題無く使えていますので利き手を気にする必要はないと思います。いい商品ですが用途に疑問のある酷評がチラホラ見られて残念だったので、これから買う誰かの購入の参考になれば幸いです。

On holding these the first time you may think that they are too light to be able to cut effectively. Don't be fooled.The blades are as sharp as advertised. I've not found a job they cannot handle, from trimming cut flower stalks to cutting through the stem of an established tomato plant, via cloth-cutting, the scissors have performed well.I recommend them.

I have a pair of the heavy duty version of these scissors for the garage. The guff that came with them claimed they would cut Kevlar. I was slightly sceptical about this claim till I tried them. They go through like a hot knife through butter. These scissors are a bit lighter, but just as sharp and just as well made. The best scissors I have come across, a really quality product.

These feel really good quality, especially only ever having had cheap scissors. They have tiny tiny serated edges which is good for grip, and then a larger serated section further down as you can see in the picture, taken on my hand to give indication of scale. I only bought these to cut wool when making pompoms and they most certainly do the job.

Nicely made scissors that have a good feel and therefore a pleasure to use. Put to use on various radio controlled model boat projects where other scissors in the house couldn't perform. Sharp blades with enough stiffness in the blades to cut very fine threads with a clean finish.
