I only looked it over briefly before wrapping it up as it is a gift for someone, but from my quick inspection everything looks good! No visible stitching issues, holes or other cosmetic imperfections. He's a little compressed and slightly silly looking but it gives him a lot of charm. And in addition, the other reviews weren't exaggerating when writing about how soft this plush is. He is so very soft and cuddly I was a little surprised. Can't wait to gift it to my friend!

I really like Wild Republic plushes, especially their 12' sized ones. I have the Grey Wolf (which appears to be discontinued) and my niece is now All About Wolves so I got her a packmate for Christmas. I waffled between this and a wolf cub, but in the end figured she would prefer an adult wolf to protect her (as the world is kinda scary right now). When he arrived, I was thrilled by how lovely he was! His fur is so very soft and silky and he's stuffed floppy -- well enough to sit on his own, but squishy enough for excellent hugs. Most notable are his eyes -- they're not yellow, or light brown. They're a beautiful metallic gold that look fantastic when they catch the light. I combed him out and did find that he shed a TON of fur, but this was with me going over him with dog grooming tools (they work just as well on stuffed wolves, and the wolves are 500% less squirmy). It took a little work, but once he was fully de-shedded he's not lost any further hair (and you wouldn't know he had lost any, it's so thick). He was a huge hit with my niece, who didn't turn loose of him for the rest of the day. Last I saw, she was reading to him from the book on wolves that accompanied him, and had a collar made out of ribbon. He was so nice, I got another for myself, as I've not seen a black wolf plush before now. The second came just as gorgeous and soft as the first. Wild Republic toys are once in a while a little odd in terms of material choices (like the pelican or smilodon), but this one is in the large majority of very soft and well-made plushes with tons of personality. I did need to close up a seam I pulled loose by accident, but it was two stitches. I have noticed that these plushes are more likely to require quick seam repairs than other brands, which is unfortunate. It's likely due to the length or density of the fur (it happens more on long-furred critters like this wolf), but it's something to be aware of. If you're not handy with a needle and don't want to learn, it's a 30-second fix at a local tailor (or dry cleaner), and a lot of toy stores also are able to do fixes. Local teddy bear hospitals, like the one I run, are usually locatable online and often have locations in libraries and children's bookstores -- and they're generally free or donation-based. Wild Republic will also replace anything with a major construction issue free of charge if you contact them with a couple of pictures. Their customer service is pretty good.

I can't say enough about how much I LOVE this gorgeous black wolf. I adored him so much that, once I saw how quickly he was selling out, I caved and let myself go back for a second to keep in a safe place. Who knows if he'll stay in production, and I wanted a backup. Just in case. That's how hard I fell for this sweet plush. No joke, this is the softest thing I've ever held in my LIFE. His fur is so thick and lush that you almost have to brush it back to see the color of his eyes (which is a really pretty light amber color). I've had a lot of plush animals in my day. A lot. But I know without a doubt that had he been around when I was a child, he would've been the Chosen One who went with me for every doctor appointment, every surgery, and every hospital stay. There's something about him that's just so wonderfully comforting. I don't know what in the world he's made out of, but I'd pay good money for an entire blanket from this material. Mine mostly lives on my bed, but I've taken to grabbing him just as something to hold when I'm lounging around on a Saturday watching the news or a Game of Thrones binge. With our world as insane and precarious as it is right now, even adults could use a plush hug now and then. (I'm going to have to work hard to keep him out of reach of my Black Lab, though, who loves soft things almost more than I do. This wolf would be the holy grail to him! I'd never get him back.) Someone made a complaint about one front paw being slightly understuffed compared to the others. I noticed that a little with mine, but I wouldn't call it an impediment; he sits just fine. I don't know why it's like that. I think that's just how they're manufactured. Just a heads-up - if you get one like this, you didn't receive a defective animal. That's apparently just how they are. I did get this handsome guy, too, at around the same time: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BOWKYFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I love them both. If you can and you're interested, I highly recommend him as well. But honestly, it's hard to beat this guy. He's just so pretty, so huggable, the perfect size, and all-around amazing. (Atka is awesome, but not nearly as soft.) Best purchase I've made in a long time. Grab him while you have the chance, because he doesn't seem to stay in stock for very long. Which I completely understand.
